Cafe at Westermans reviews
29 Our poached eggs on ciabatta were good however disappointed when they attempted to charge $13.50 when the menu board clearly states $13.
Was quickly rectified when we pointed this out.
Really enjoyed our lunch. Staff very friendly and delicious food. Certainly return whenever we come back to Hastings.
Great place for lunch. Quite noisy inside due to the amount of diners, but lovely outside in the sun.
Good food and good sized portions.
Love the staff and service, love the food. Love dinning out in Napier but when you are in Hastings, westermans is the place to be
26/6 coffee, toast with jam and a excellent selection of local and regional papers. Awesome staff and lots of talking and laughing costomers.
Fantastic to come over and have my grandparents meet my daughter. Thank you heaps for taking a booking for us.
Very grateful
Brilliant lovely Cafe, great piece of Hasting history & charm, beautiful food & variety, friendly happy staff, great indoor & outdoor seating
Spacious and clean and comfortable cafe. Staff are friendly, and good selection of food. My only complaint would be the cleanliness of the water glasses near the counter that you help yourself to. Finger marks and dribble stains. We chose not to use them.
Great atmosphere and so much cabinet food to choose from. You will not be disappointed by the baked goods, absolutely delicious! They roast their own coffee beans in house, which is a great point of difference, and the blend is spot on!
Love the staff and service, love the food. Love dinning out in Napier but when you are in Hastings, westermans is the place to be
Worst service had no time for us because we had 4 teens and two kids felt the whole time we where and inconvenience. When we where trying our best and got snaped at by checkout when asking questions. Happy to take 100 worth of profit but couldn't be bothered to give us grace.
Very poor custom service.actually there was none! Stood at the counter for 5 minutes without being acknowledged, while 3 staff members were fluffing about! I was with my daughters and grand children. I let another customer get ahead of us, as I knew we were a group with teenagers and toddlers, that take time getting their food. However I felt that this cafe obviously doesn't need new clients. Maybe should go to an international franchise that is quite happy taking my money! Support small nz business not this one again!
Me and a a mate decide to go in for a coffee and lunch as we do and stand at the checkout for about 5 mins without even acknowledging us but instead saying something under her breath and didn’t even look at me when she said something so we continue to wait 5 mins.then a lady wanting to buy 2 BANANAS gets to go infront after we have already waited to be served and the blonde lady at the counter asked us to step aside after we have already picked our food and have waited about 5 minutes for her to sort out the till. After waiting how come someone else gets to go infront? Still not being served WE WALKED OUT Is it cause we are young? As someone who works in hospo this was totally not okay and we should be treated better as consumers and the establishment should be operated in a more efficient way. We would have love to try the food but unfortunately felt pushed aside and ignored which wasn’t a nice experience
Very nice cafe with good selection of food. Also has seating outside with nice views and was peaceful. Good customer service. Very pleasant.
Fantastic! Stopped in to Westermans Cafe this morning for an early breakfast with hubby and our one year old. We were all pleasantly satisfied on leaving. Best eggs benedict I've had in a while & hubby couldn't stop raving on about how good his pumpkin soup was. As for our boy, his plate of crepes was emptied fairly quickly. Prices are the average/usual cafe prices but well worth it. Lovely customer service to top it all off - will definitely be making this a regular visit when we stop in to Hastings again. Thank you!
Full breakfast wasn't too bad at $22.50. The cabinet food is very expensive. $4.80 for mini savouries or a meatball is pricey. Small club sandwich at $4.80 and a normal sandwich at $6 is possibly the highest pricing I've ever seen for basic food.
Consistently good service coffee and food (wide range) Cheerful and positive Staff. Plenty of room, well-kept toilets. Update: We walked several blocks which took us past several coffee places, none as inviting as here. Still the best in town!
Lovely classic cafe at centre of town. Great coffee and good range of sweets and savoury foods. Decor is inkeeping with art deco building of surrounding area. Outside seating at roadside is pleasant under the floral hanging baskets. Staff are friendly and helpful
Bacon wrap. Chock full of bacon, egg, lettuce, cheese, other salad veg and possibly the kitchen sink. Tasted wonderful. Best wrap I’ve eaten.
Very nice Cafe to dine out. Good food and good service. Enjoyed this morning with work mates. Highly recommended.
Recently I've decided to give it a second chance because I used to like the food over there. Unfortunately, the lady, who was serving us, was quite arrogant. There was no smile, welcoming atmosphere or saying Hi or How are you? Through, the food was still good. However, compared to other cafes in Hastings and Napier area, the service was very disappointing.
