Milk & Honey Restaurant reviews
60I enjoyed my coconut latte and eggs on toast with a side of creamy mushrooms. Others at my table raved about the apple crumble pancakes and the banana bacon pancakes.
Not to bad experience We arrived got a table then asked for Vax pass We ordered iced coffee, when it arrived the coffee was burned it was then replaced by flat white coffee much nicer, we ordered brunch it came in generous portions nice friendly staff.
Yummy Asian style food. Staff were very friendly and helpful with advice on menu. The Bao buns are really yummy - esp the bulgogi beef. Tried a bit of the korean pork and he pork was very tasty. Not too sure about the pandan sauce - an acquired taste. Overall, nice food, but nothing outstanding to make me go back again.
Best pancakes I’ve ever tried. The food was ace with generous portions (I usually order two breakfasts because it’s never enough!), the service was attentive, and I was impressed at how quickly the coffee and breakfast came to the table. Definitely recommend and will definitely go back next time I’m in Napier! Thanks
Despite being busy, the service was fantastic and quick. The food is great value and delicious.
Dinner was absolutely delicious - highly recommend the Korean fried chicken (although not really Korean) and the pork belly bao. Chocolate milk was delish too. Great interiors and good variety of Asian fusion in the menu!
Things fell apart with the desserts though, I ordered the basque cheesecake with seasonal fruit and lemon sorbet but it came with what seemed like canned rhubarb and lemon lime supermarket ice cream? Seems a shame considering it's summer and so many berries and stonefruit are available! Cheesecake itself was great though.
Service was mixed - waiters were nice but seemed new with no idea of the dishes on the menu.
Overall definitely recommend for dinner but desserts and service just need a little bit of work and it would be perfect!
We went here for yesterday’s lunch at around 11: 40 am. One of the waitresses told us to wait for 5 minutes so she can clear out some tables. We did not mind as we understand it’s a busy time. 16 minutes passed and we’re still standing outside in the heat with a very hungry 6 year old and a 1 year old. I started the timer.
11: 56am - went inside to follow-up with the same waitress and she ferried us on one of the outside tables. Was told that menu will be brought outside.
12: 04pm - finally got the menu after I got up and went inside again to get it from the same waitress
12: 10pm - waited for the same waitress to come back but she didn’t. So my wife walked in to go to the waitress to give our order. Waitress realized that the menu she gave us were dinner menus! Again, waited for another 4 minutes or so for the lunch menus.
12: 15pm - lunch menus arrived. Progress. Waitress said she’ll be back to take our order.
12: 20pm - said waitress didn’t come back so the wife walked back in to find her to give her our order from the lunch menu. Waitress wrote down including the drinks. Promised to be right out to put water in our table. Yay! Slow-cooked pork, ramen noodles, bacon fries and coconut water. Advertised waiting time was 20mins. No worries.
12: 40pm - no food arrived.
12: 46pm - waiting game
12: 47pm - 6y.o.: “feed me, feed me”
12: 48pm - time to go back inside to find any signs of life.
12: 52pm - was told there were no orders made on our behalf. Beaten and downtrodden.
12: 53pm - talked to the nice manager, the only person there who seemed to be welcoming. She was apologetic of the situation as she scoured through the pile of poorly jotted pieces of papers I can only gather as food orders from other waiting customers not as patient as we were. The unforgiving waitress who earlier entertained us helped in sifting through the orders but to no success. No time to waste, I repeated my order in front of the crowd looking curiously hoping to get it through the kitchen gods. Plus the quickest food they can get out (fries).
12: 58pm - got the fries. 6y.o. Have been appeased, for now.
1: 12pm - another waitress came out with the mythical food. Success.
The slow-cooked pork and bacon fries were absolute winners. The kitchen gods must be rewarded for the love of their craft. Too bad it’s outperformed by the poor quality of service.
If you don’t value your time and have the patience to deal with trainees then go dine in here. However, I wouldn’t recommend this to tourist with not enough time as well as to parents who have kids.
Wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was nice. Recommend the fried chicken and pork lettuce cups. Only reason it's not 5 star is the cocktails were a big let down. Very watered down tasting with the cup being almost all ice and no drink!
We had lunch here. Great service - even though they were very busy we got a table straight away and our drinks and meals arrived quite quickly. The menu was not overly impressive, food was well presented and great tasting but a little light for big eaters like us, so luckily we had the foresight to get sides of Chips. $80 for 3 mains 2 sides of chips, and a non alcoholic drink each includes public holiday surcharge.
Very poor customer service been for a while, Use to be a place liked to come daily wont be coming back anymore Miss brown for life, Front of house very arrogant and rude! It's your job Bitchs
Waited 45 minutes to order a drink.
Poor service got food sent to room evenly as sick of waiting for drinks and then wrong food delivered.
What a joke. Shame used to love this place.
.
Coffee good. Waited 30 minutes for pie to be heated. Forgot the water. Service needs upgrade
Pity it used to be good
Amazing service and food was outstanding. We had breakfast and dinner here and were not disappointed! Got to try the Liquorice All-Sorts Espressoo Martini, best one I've ever had!
Loving the Asian inspired menu. Difficult to choose as everything looks so yummy. Some of the wait staff were on the learning curve, but this does not put me off returning to Milk and Honey
I always look forward dining in to this place every time I’m in Napier as the food is amazing! Came in today, I stood at the door for 5 mins until someone acknowledged me told me to grab a seat, sat there for 10 minutes. I would understand if it’s busy BUT IT’S NOT! The food was yummy as always though, as I was paying no one wanted to do the till as well. Sort it out people.
Very poor customer service. Use to be a place we liked to come too but wont be coming back. Front of house man very arrogant and rude! If i could give you 0 star i would!
Great food, great service and great location. They're dog-friendly too, which is really helpful - we regularly stop in with our greyhound-cross.
Food was wonderful. The apple crumble pancakes were delicious. Wait staff handled some grumpy customers next to us really well (wasn't even a issue).
Every body should go there very nice drinks and friendly people and I enjoyed it and you can talk to them and I got service with and smile it was a great place to go and I will go there again very happy
Just the most excellent breakfast I've had. Service was also immaculate. Going home for a post food nap.
