SAI Thai Eatery reviews
58 Food was great, but really let down by the service and price.
Very slow to arrive, unattentive and no follow-up from the staff.
Cost is at the very high end for Wellington or Auckland - service should be on point when spending $140 for 2 people.
Dined at Sai last night. Food and wine was superb, as was the service. Will be back for another visit soon!
Looks like a gourmet restaurant with friendly staff. You go in and see there are four vegan options. We were told the stir fried veggies and tofu salad would be good for 2. We order it and the portions are really small. The taste is average nothing special. I could cook a better one tbh. We were offered sparkling water like it was normal and got charged $12 for it. Hungrier and angrier than before.
This is my happy place. The cashew chicken is so good. I've been around the world and eaten at the finest restaurants in the world, but nothing compares to that cashew chicken.
Small portions. Over priced. Arrogant staff. Unable to accommodate requests. Will never set foot there again.
If you're looking for authentic Thai food presented immaculately, then you must dine here. Absolutely delicious. And for those of you wanting yummy Thai Ice Coffee this is the place to come in the hot weather. Definitely will return. Thanks
A lovely place to come and try several dishes. Delicious flavours, very tasty and very unique to what I have tried before. Ambience of the restaurant is nice and also great service too! Highly recommend.
What a lovely family run restaurant, excellent service with the most delicious food and such generous portion sizes. Our waiter Kon was top notch will definitely be back.
I had a fabulous meal here today - I ordered three things because I was really hungry and you can never have enough roti. All of them were an amazing mixture of fresh and warming and spicy. I would recommend this place for a quick lunch stop or a more leisurely 3 course dinner. I'll definitely be back!
Had Sai Thai's beef short rib red curry with roti as a Covid takeaway meal. The beef was tender and falling off the bone (generous portion of meat) couldn't have been happier with this as my first restaurant meal after lockdown!
Just spent $50 for the smallest meal I've ever had still hungry definitely would not recommend.
Oh boy, this hidden gem in Napier is the next level of thai cuisine! From our first bite to last it didn’t disappoint! Im still dreaming of their chicken cashew nuts it must be the wok. Utterly delectable, lovely service and reasonable price! 101/100
Definitely the best Thai I’ve eaten outside Thailand! Amazing flavours, definitely a must go we’ve had the Tom yum, Penang curry and woktossed greens … I’m still dreaming about it haha Yum!
Great vegan options. Not heaps of food but very tasty. Really great staff, very helpful and attentive. Clean and beautiful space
We had AMAZING vegan meal! It was the best Thai vegan food we ever had! Everything was really tasty and the stuff were friendly and helpful! Definitely a 5 star restaurant for vegan's!
I'm adding the menu - the stuff have circled for us the vegan dishes with green marker, enjoy! ️
Had an excellent late lunch with the fam here. The owner was very kind and accommodating to cater for our kids with allergies. The cashew chicken was a real highlight as was the Kari puffs and caramelized tofu.
The best food I've had for a very long time. Fantastic helpful friendly staff and amazing food! Yumm!
A rather more upmarket Thai restaurant which makes it abit more expensive.
However, the service is very good- friendly and attentive;the atmosphere very pleasant and the food is fabulous with some less usual, delicious dishes (the leaf wrapped starter morsals were something else!)
Highly recommended if you don't mind paying a little more.
Food was amazing but the day core was the reason we wouldnt eat there again. You shouldnt be able to see straight into the toilets from where you're eating. Seats weren't comfortable. Tin cups instead of glass for your water. Air conditioning so loud it drained out the music. No intermitcy between seatings. A lower ceiling with plant's and paintings would of helped. Great service and prices with the food though
