The Duke Of Gloucester reviews
68Not a great meal. 2nd time here just to see if they were having a bad day the first time but was worse than the first. Won't be back sorry. You just can't serve half cooked food.
Lunch for about 25 - 30 of us was a very unexpected level of choice, quality and picturesque menu. My expectation was completely misplaced; a place well worth a visit.
Great atmosphere, amazing outside area for those of that prefer sitting outside. Meals bar and restaurant are worth your money.
Sorry no photo was busy catching up
We called in for a meal as it was our halfway poinr on our trip to Tolaga Bay. The food was so awesome. Great service thank you so much
Everytime we come to The Duke we are always impressed with the food! Always massive meals and delicious! The staff are always accommodating and friendly!
Exceptional service from staff friendly. Lovely food, just a nice cozy place kids friendly they give them a nice kids pack and free dessert awesome
Had a lovely meal out here last night and have to say the staff were amazing, humorous and their patience with our group was outstanding, re covid pass! Thanks see you again soon.for a gerkin
Would have given it a zero but can't. Rude service. Brought a drink and ordered a meal and was told to still wear my mask. Like how the heck was I gonna eat with a bloody mask on. Really rude. Rather spend my money else where and support a better business.
Wow meal was delicious value for money. The staff are outstanding and meet everyones needs. This place is spotless. Thank you for an enjoyable tme.
Good local pub. Nice outdoor seating. The smoking areas are everywhere outdoors which made it a bit uncomfy for us non-smokers. Tap beer selection needs a reimagining.
This restaurant was such value for money. The meals were massive and so delicious. This would have to be my new favorite restaurant in Napier and we can't wait to go back there again.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. They had lots of people in the restaurant with Christmas functions and they still managed to get our main meals with in 15 mins.
We were more than happy with our meals and the overall experience.
Thank you The Duke of Gloucester for such an amazing meal.
Staff are so helpful and pleasant, Food is awesome. Compliments to the chef. Really had a great evening.
Just took my mum for a meal. Her pizza was very nice and my steak was cooked to perfection. Some steak houses could take notes.
Staff where super nice and helpful.
Worth a visit
My husband and I went here for lunch on Saturday 27 November. We had a Tapas share meal, ours consisted of beer battered fish bites with tartar sauce, pork belly bites with smokey BBQ sauce, chicken tenders coated in Mexican spices with a garlic aoli and the last dish was camenbert, crostinies and a plum sauce. We were impressed with the portion sizes we didn't think we would get through but we did it was too yummy to waste. Thanks team we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Keep up the great work.
Some times crowed, foods great, but unfortunately there's no pool tables.would of been perfect if they had
Awesome All day breakfast, Good Guinness, Good coffee, great biscuit. Friend said Blue Cheese Burger needed only half of the blue cheese, otherwise very nice. Great outdoor seating area, Staff friendly. Recommended.
Group of 8 to celebrate a birthday. Food was good however at 8pm we became invisible. Staff not to be sighted. Only about 3 tables still eating or drinking however service appeared to have ceased for the evening. After vainly trying to get the attention of the one staff member who was cleaning empty tables I finally got up and went to the counter where a staff member was behind the till. Asked him where was the service and was asked " do you want dessert ". Told him we were wanting drinks!
With hospitality businesses stating they are struggling due to covid19 would expect better attention to both food and service.
Our whānau enjoyed their night staff were on point and on behalf of Munz n Jens whānau we appreciate your kind heart on showing our whānau a beautiful night. Ngā mihi
Their meals are enough to make you full for sure.
Great service. Plenty of parking around the back. Outside seats and TV service in case there's a game you'd like to watch while eating.
