The Duke Of Gloucester reviews
68This is a great place 6o eat and have a few drinks. I had a magnificent steak there last night.always great.
We called in rhe Duke last Thursday for a quick bite. The wedges and pork crackle was amazing. The service from staff was top grade. I would differently recommend this bar for the above reasons and the price for our meal.
The food was good service felt abit squished in with a party of 40 otherwise smaller group great
The food was wonderful and the staff are fantastic. I felt very valued and it was the best dining experience for a long time.
For us one of THE best restaurants in Hawkes Bay, my favorite go to restaurant. All top class cuisine, extremely friendly & efficient staff, all at very reasonable prices. Well done, will always be coming back here. High five!
Group of 10 and 4 of us sent our meals back. Beef cheeks sauce tasted like it was off maybe to much wine? Corn fritters were under cooked. Mixed platter tasted very old. Staff were apologetic and didnt have to pay at the end. Seating for 10 was in a corner of the restaurant and we had to go find chairs. So dissatisfaction all round
Fabulous ambiance, friendly and helpful staff, scrummy food, menu amazing, This would be my local if I lived in Napier
Dined here last night in the courtyard and it was such a lovely end to a hot day. Very relaxed, meals were superb. One had the fish and chips and one roast of the day, both beautifully presented. Food was delicious and tasty. Everything was good in here. I highly recommend.
I had the ribs. The souce was a bit hot but the meat was tender. There slaw is not to wet, just the way I like it. Others at the table had the berger and chowder with only good things to say about the food.
Such an amazing place! The service was great, food was great. Atmosphere was amazing! Definitely a new favorite place?
Nice relaxed atmosphere with pleasant decor. Staff are friendly and helpful. Yummy food at reasonable prices
As a Pom visiting this great land it was a delight to visit a Kiwi pub. Good beers nice atmosphere, friendly locals. Give it a try.
Fantastic hearty place for a meal, with a wide beer range. Shaded outside area. Large carpark behind building.
Food was great. They did 2 vegan dishes for us.as well as divine scallops for my elderly mother.tasty delicious food
Good friendly staff that catered to the needs of the group. The gluten free chocolate brownie was very rich and moist. The paned flounder fish (photo) doesn't come with chips if you are gluten free, it instead came with boiled potatoes.
I have never had a bad experience at the Duke however I ordered a so-called snack of chicken wings and honestly it was huge and ended up taking a doggy bag home which fed my wife and myself for two more meals so if you're a big eater this is The place mind you some of the staff need to put a smile on their face it will make all the difference
Never had a disappointing experience here. Pretty rough and ready but the food is consistently excellent.
One of the few places in Hawkes Bay who know how to make a proper Lemon, Lime and Bitters too!
Their food is to the tasting, id try it first, otherwise, friendly place where theres always someone open to a conversation
Pleasant and reasonably priced. Good friendly service. Only negative would be that our chicken was considerably overcooked
