Black Pearl Cafe

One of my favorite cafes in Palmy. Bubble tea is not bad… the tapioca pearls are slightly tough to chew. I would love if they use eco-friendly packaging. Food is great and the kids love eating there! Will be back again and again.

Real good bubble tea! However…. The customer service is actually shocking, I’ve come in many times and the front of house staff don’t even attempt a fake smile they just stare at the customers and roll their eyes! Doesn’t make me wanna sit and dine in the cafe after those experiences!

Ordered via Delivereasy. Paid over $80 for 2 entrees and 3 mains. Normally Black Pearl Cafe dishes are flavourful and cooked with care. The dishes tonight were bland and completely lacking salt/flavour. To top it off the order was 20 minutes late (unsure whose fault it was - the restaurant or Delivereasy?). A poor experience unfortunately and will seriously question ordering from here if this standard continues. Come on guys, you can do better!

Used to like their ice blend drink but never had it during the last summer as they did not have ice left for the day. I actually visited them more than 5 times (time varies between 12pm - 5pm) but never had succeeded. To be honest, I believe they just did not want to make it as it takes longer to make than other drinks. Good luck when Gongcha arrives in Palmy.

Ordered online, took over 30 minutes for a bubble tea order, bit annoying when people did walk in orders after I ordered, and they got theirs before me.

Updating my recommendation since my old review was 4 years ago. Friendly service, loyalty cards for free bubble teas. (Tables need a bit of a revarnish, but the lighting is relaxing.) There are a wife range of drinks including bubble teas, coffee etc.and reasonably priced Asian meals and nibbles. The largest table has a recessed power dock so you can run a charger or USB device – also, free Wi-Fi is a major plus.

Our 1st visit here, could not fault the meal or service, the meal was delicious, full of flavor and a good size, entrees delicious, would highly recommend

Have had bubble tea plenty of times whilst in various countries in Asia and the actual tea itself tasted great but there was something about the tapioca pearls that made me try and avoid them.will probably be the best bubble tea place you can find in Palmerston North but I wont be going back in a hurry. Decent customer service, I have heard the food is very good though so may go back to try the food.

I've been searching for a replacement boba shop since my favorite closed, this by far and away outdoes them

Great quality food and drinks. Most staff are super friendly and great but the odd one is pretty average, not bad at all though

Awesome place to go & hangout. I was there to get bubble tea for me & my daughter (fantastic range of flavors & very delicious). I highly recommend this place to everyone

Coffee bubble tea was my first experience with Black Pearl. It was really impressed. This time come back for lunch. Love the fried noodle.

Yea it was average this day but have had other meals from there that have been stunning. Clean and tidy. Will definitely try again

Simple meals quick and efficient. I had the platter the dumplings were rather tasteless and luke warm I'm not sure if that's how they're supposed to be served though

Called and pre ordered for a table of 5, was advised that food will be ready at 12.30. Paid for my meal when I got there. Funny enough my meal wasn't there by 12.54. Absolutely appalling service. Never going back. Took a refund. The bakery next door is pretty awesome though.

First time I had ramen and bubble tea and my goodness was it good. Relaxing atmosphere, nice staff and amazing food

I always come here for Bubble Tea, espesically Taro, Mango and all-time favorite - Green Apple. I have never had a meal here before but I want tooooo, so I am coming ths Saturday with my friends to have Chicken.
