Ocean Beach Eatery reviews
65Was ok. Stopped in on a roady. Kid friendly and even had games to keep them occupied. Staff are friendly but prices are a little high
Dropped in for dinner, the Flying Pig Puzza was delish, staff friendly and attentive, throughly enjoyed my meal, didn't really need the chips.
Absolutely loved our meal, great service, and chill atmosphere, highly recommend if you're in the area
Delicious bar snacks, really enjoyed the loaf and buffalo wings, the sauce was really good! Cool having $10 cocktail of the day too
Update 6th May 2023 - no more wings! But still lovely cobb loaf and we tried the pumpkin walnut pizza which was really good! The staff were really lovely, excellent service from our waitress whose name I didn't get, and also Maggie - a great bartender, friendly and made brilliant cocktails!
Fabulous meal and special mention of the excellent service from Maggie. Loved the relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely tell others about this wee gem at Foxton Beach.
Friendly welcoming team, great steak deal on Thursday steak night, pleasant and enjoyable venue.
Very busy, couldn't take our order for 15min then another 30 to make, but worth the wait
Had a nice evening meal. Fish n chips good portion and good value for money.
Drunken chicken was tasty
Washed down with panhead on tap and a baby guiness cocktail. Friendly and efficient service. Would definitely eat here again
The service was excellent, the styling was cool, but the food was abysmal. Really, really bad. The chicken was so dry I want to be vegan in future, and the promised bok choy practically non-existant to the point of garnish on the cheap bulk of rice. I dont remember rice mentioned on the menu, but there was a lot of it. The scotch filet was tough and gristly. Bland sides. Might I also mention the state of the loos? Not good. Enough said.
Nigel runs an excellent establishment and should be complemented on how friendly his staff are. Friday night fish and chips were delicious. Joice of pan fried, battered or crumbled the fish portions are handsomely generous.
Great atmosphere and we all admired the outside space out the back. Definitely worth a return trip. Thanks Nigel.
I had the most awful burger I've ever had, i don't know what was in there but i couldn't chew through it and returned it, I wasn't even offered a coffee or a drink.totally appalling.won't be back.
Wonderful evening, very attentive waitress. All three courses were beautiful. Special.of the day Beef cheeks didn't need a steak knife they were so tender you could cut them with a spoon and with incredible flavor
We'll be back
Fantastic fish and chips at Foxton Beach - also a delicious Kumara salad and couple of nice drops of white.
Very satisfied with decent sized meals, fair price and good service on a very busy New Years Eve.
Absolutely loved being there this afternoon. The 2 guys at the bar making our cocktails were AMAZING. The cocktails were exactly what we were looking for and you both were so so appreciated by my sisters and I. We got groaned at about decorations that were in faces and then other patrons broke after because they were annoying them aswell and didn’t get the same treatment over but the drinks and bar guys made our afternoon.
Went to see Benny Tipene play, the bartender was flat out but still smiling, friendly and chatty. Great spot at the beach to catch up with friends.
Anita and team were awesome. Helping us out in a bind and accommodating our group at short notice. The food, service and experience was totally on point!
Food was under average and over price. Also the service was terrible and some of them rude. Will not be back
Lovely 80th birthday celebration of my Tino Ataahua Aunty Judy.
Meal was delicious
Service was perfect
I'd love to come back again
The food is overpriced and not much of it! The pretentious owners are lacking in keeping staff, they own 2 other local cafes that shut early ever day due to not enough staffing. She was extremely rude to my 16 year old teen. No wonder the word around locally is not great! I've never given such a negative review it doesn't even deserve the one star to be honest. The beach doesn't need a pretend high end restaurant! Simply balmy was at least simple but good! 3 establishments I'll be avoiding!
