Tasty Restaurant reviews
57 Not recommended. Pineapple bun and sweet douhua were really bad and disgusting. We asked the staff is there any stuffing inside the bun before we ordered, and he said no so we ordered it. The buns were cold so we requested to reheat them but we found that there’s pineapple mixed with custard inside the bun! It was called pineapple bun not because there’s pineapple inside, it’s because of the look!
For the sweet douhua, they did not provide brown sugar. They only have syrup and that’s all. That’s not a Cantonese restaurant, everything was weird.
We waited food for a long time, the food was bad, and service was not nice.
Terrible here. I ordered some food they brought wrong one but they said just have it they didn't apologize at all but forced to have that one and we wanted to have what we wanted they didn't like and took back that food what we didn't order.more surprisingly they charged me that food which we didnt order! Feels like something not right so we went back to ask receipt and she was checking receipt first and gave back money without any apologize. I never want to go back.and food was really terrible ever!
I arrived 45 minutes before closing and the kitchen was closed.bad experience. I would not go back
The service was appalling, the meal came out in dribs and drabs and they kept making excuses. Not acceptable, they want to be professional, they need to own it when they mess up. I went in with my wife and daughter, my wife got half her meal, about 45 minutes later mine came with my daughters and the rest of my wifes meal. At the prices they charge they need to do better.
Yumcha was not nice and we got the lunch special, chicken and corn soup was thick and flavourless and the chicken and vegetables were overcooked and the sauce was not nice.
Won't go again definitely.the food and dimsum are not tasty and not even close to what it should be. I would choose another chinese restaurant in Palmy.
Dinner time buffet was terrible, poor selection, tasteless food, poor service. Extremely disappointed with the whole experience!
Friendly helpful staff. Anonymous surroundings. Large portions. Average quality. Expensive.
This is normally the Chinese that we pick but after tonight we will be alot more cautious. Ordered the fried noodle with beef and it felt like the noodles had been forgotten about and just left to soak.the texture was like chewing on pure fat.
Ordered the honey chicken and again it just felt like they forgot about it or it was cooked before we placed the order.the chicken was just slimey with no crunch. The reason this isn't a 1star is because the BBQ pork buns were really good.
Please don't serve this kind of food to paying customers.we know that you can do better because we've had it in the past
Great service, but I find the food too salty for my personal taste.
The Steamed Beef Tendons were too dry and Wonton Soup tasteless.
Suggest updating your opening hours on Trip Advisor, we walked half an hour on a Tuesday to find it closed
Chinese food based restaurant. Pricing is fairly good given there's alot to eat. Interior very spartan but spacious and clean. Dined as a group of 9 and had the banquet selection of food served over about the period of 1/2hr. The longest part was the entrees then the remainder of the meals came in quick succession. BYO. Or bottle store opposite to get ya
Have dined there often. Wide variety of flavours and dishes. Staff very happy to explain dishes. Service is quick, and follow-up service is obliging. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Excellent choice. Can be noisy on the weekends because of happy families.
Food, service and atmosphere was nice. I prefer the yumcha back in Wellington, but the price here is near half the price so its acceptable.
Went out for dinner with a couple of friends, they had been recommended the place. We didn't really know what to expect but we were hoping for a good night out and a good dinning experience.
Discovered on our arrival that the place is a BYO which is okay as there is a liquor store around the corner and a supermarket across the road.
Wow the menu was huge we brought and shared our meals we couldn't eat it all.
If I go back and again I would have a banquet as it appears to be value for money. Good service good food.
Big selection of dishes easy to over order!
Next time we will order less and add as required. Very quick cooking times for food
The Chinese Restaurant with yum cha dim sums to order. Some of the items are only available on weekend. We ordered the black sesame roll dessert but replied that the restaurant has stopped offer this dish for a while.
On the whole, the food are yummy with reasonable price.
I have spent a lot of time in Asia so I feel confident in saying the food here is excellent. More authentic than anywhere else in NZ. The ambience and service let's the place down sadly. Hence the 4 star. A hidden gem.
Authentic Chinese food at affordable price! Only thing is good things take time. So be prepared to wait for a bit longer for your order to turn up.
Really friendly staff who are very accommodating. The food was yum. Only lost one star because we went during the week for Yum Cha and they don't have as much variety as on weekends. Would recommend this place. Well priced, especially compared to others that have recently put their prices up.
