Really enjoyed our stay, one of the most spacious, and best equipped campsite I have been to in NZ, which sort of justifies the somewhat steep cost.

Good place to break up your journey. Decent coffee and variety of good food. Friendly helpful staff and contactless operating means is open to all. Good short walks and swimming in the river. Although can get busy at times during the summer holidays.

Well worth stopping for the food. I’m often dubious about getting a full breakfast because I don’t want to pay $22 for a small plate of sad food, but here it was anything but that.

Huge helping of sausages and eggs and hash and everything. Very filling and very tasty. Also, excellent coffee.

Location gets 5 stars, absolutely beautiful site by the river. Powered site was surrounded by bush and we had a visit from a friendly Weka. 2 complaints. We ran out of water 2nd afternoon so no showers or toilets for about 40 people staying at the powered site for the evening and overnight. Also the powered sites were situated a long way from the kitchen facilities so if you wanted to cook in the kitchen you had to take your car. Also powered sites are not near the river, so if you want a river aspect and kitchen facilities don't book a powered site. We would definitely stay again but on a non powered site.

Not so good, mixed messages at entrance, and gates locked for access, yet nothing to say it was closed. Pricing might be ok for summer, June, maybe not.

Best iced chocolate I have ever had! Staff were friendly & fast service. Poached eggs on toast with bacon came with a couple of extras which was a really nice surprise plus it was very YUMMY! Thank you:)

Great coffee and the custard square to die for. Only in the weekend as we have been told. Heard a lot of people raving about the food.
Would have liked to stay at campsite but the price a bit to high if you are fully self contained.
Will be back as heaps to explore in Pelorus

I ordered the waffles, and it was awesome. Lots of carbs, fresh fruit and granola. Just what I needed for a long bike. Coffee and smoothie were excellent as well. Perfectly located Cafe, with great food and friendly staff. I recommended a stop in!

The camp ground is stunning, well facilitated and comfortable. This is a hidden gem!

What a spot! The campground is immaculate and has really decent facilities. If you are camping with kids stay in the main grassed area not the sites by the river as there is a bit of a drop off and a ether fast flowing river. Hot showers, kitchen, bathroom, laundry and rubbish facilities. You can’t use your DOC Pass her sadly so it is a tad expensive but still worth it. Cafe is great too

We stayed at the campground and ate at the Cafe in the busy holiday period. The food was amazing, wild pork pie was delish. The grounds at the campsite were prestine, our riverside site was huge and fit 2 large tents, a gazebo and 2 vehicles. Heaps of space from neighbour's also. Beautiful walks, no playgrounds etc but peaceful compared compared other camp grounds we stayed at. Will he back.

The campsite is amazing. Doc site with hot showers. Clean toilets and a large kitchen and laundry available for campers use. So many walking tracks around the area and amazing river to swim or adventure in. The prices are great for what you get campsites are large. Food at the Cafe is very yum and a nice break from camp food. I recommend getting a tube for a float down the river. Very fun!

Food was nice but I thought it was a little steep ti charge me for a tiny bowl of slats to go with my mussel fritter. The bushy region that the cafe is situated in is lovely and there are some beautiful birds close by.

Excellent coffee, tasty tiny cakes available to not bother any guilty feelings, and a lovely ham and cheese toastie. Cute place too.
