Chang Siam Thai Restaurant

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures while having dinner with my colleagues. This restaurant is a short walk or drive from the Rainbow Falls. Food here is generally okay, quite authentic compared to those in my home country or from Thailand. Nice ambience too and a good outdoor space for company events.

It was a lovely place and we were lucky to have a table. The food was excellent very authentic Thai food. The service was great Amazing -

I thought they were a bit conservative on their heat guide. My red curry was a 'Hot' but I would rate it as 'Mild', very tasty though.

They were doing a roaring trade in takeout orders the evening we dined in.

The food is very fresh and delicious, the seasoning is just right. One serving is much for the price. Open and wide space. Nice view behind the restaurant.

One of the best Thai restaurants I've ever eaten! Outstanding and professional service as well!

Went in for takeout. Restaurant looked great staff friendly however is the worst Thai I have eaten. Ingredients were fresh but no real flavour. Would not go back.

We have lived in Kerikeri for almost five years and without a doubt Chang Siam is our favourite restaurant.

Always delicious, more than you can eat, very reasonably priced
and, not the least, service that is always perfect.

The choice is huge: from curries to salmon to fabulous vegetarian meals.

During Covid this fantastic place catered for every taste, not compromising in their care and attention.

Atmosphere and service.
Food was prompt, and was fine, just not great. Definitely worth visiting.

Had the most amazing dinner here Tuesday night bought the family back for another night. The food was fresh hot and bursting with flavor. Meals were a decent size with enough left overs for tomorrow also. The host topped it. He was so funny and interacted with my kids who now call him Uncle Mike. As a solo mum with 2 young children it's hard going out for dinners but Uncle Mike made it so easy and comfortable. I highly recommend.

My meal was tasteless, as if they had forgotten to put the seasoning in.
Very disappointed.

Following the reply from the restaurant, here are more details.
We dined on 20th Sept
I had a dish of squid (can't remember the exact name) served with rice
I requested it to be medium hot
After tasting it, I asked for extra chilli, was offered a fresh chilli or sweet chilli sauce, which I accepted. It didn't save the dish.
I didn't complain because we were celebrating a birthday, I wasn't going to make a scene.
I didn't send the plate back because I didn't want to eat my dinner after the others had finished theirs.

On a positive note, the others in my group liked their dish (I am not reviewing their dinner but mine). And the waitress was very friendly.

I assure you my review is a genuine assessment of my experience on that occasion. I think you should accept it with more grace. There is no need to discuss this in private, a review is a public thing.

Not impressed with my beef pad thai. I had this often in Christchurch and it was fantastic. Won't be going back to Chang Siam.

Got takeaways last night pretty unimpressed, small serving size minimal flavour and heaps of plastic packaging plus another layer of glad wrap around plastic containers not very conscious

Wow, this was our first visit and won't be the last. Great lunch with ultra tasty food. Great garden setting and plenty of parking.

Never fails to deliver. Great service, delicious food. Waited patiently while my friend and I chatted. We were the last to leave!

First time trying this restaurant even after living in the neighborhood for a year, and I’m truly impressed. We went in here to dine-in for our anniversary and the place is very elegant and the staff was very professional. The food was relatively new to us, so the staff helped to pick some great dishes. The appetizers were great and the main meals were superb. No flaws in the food and the desert was large enough to share with two.
We tried the salmon, and it was top notch. The GOONG HOM PAH, VEGETARIAN SUMMER ROLL, MACADAMIA CHICKEN, and the GANG PANANG was spot on. We will try other items on the menu slowly with time.
The only draw back at this place is, the smoke from the cooking gets into the dining area and during the cold months the doors and the windows are open, so be prepared to get a little bit smoke, which is not too bad as the smell is just amazing. Enjoy your visit to Chang Siam, if you are in the area. You will not regret.

We enjoyed a workmates farewell party on their restaurant back paddock where the servers brought out delectable Thai plates of finger food for everyone. We sampled a variety of wines and beer with our evening rondevous while entertaining ourselves with life's rich tapestries in which each person has contributed to, during our purposefully meaningful times together. A special, memorable occasion.
