Lygon Café

Simply the best BIG BREAKFAST for a long while and a great start to the day. Excellent food & plenty of it. Excellent tea and coffee. The constant opening of the entry door was a bit of a cold air nuisance but the temp was single digits outside so no problem in warmer weather.

The best Cafe in the Far North, food is always just the best and the staff are very friendly. We have tried several different items on the menu over the years and have always enjoyed the food and drinks. AAA+

Iced coffee heavenly, my partner would rate it 10 stars if he could. Quality of sausage rolls is beyond great. Beautiful pastry, nice filling. Sold out around 12pm so get in early.
Good place to have a snack or lunch. And, the BEST, BEST hot choc (soy milk) in the North Island. Absolutely my fav place to grab a bite and always busy these days

Easy access - whether pedestrian or from car parked in large off-street carpark.

There are plentiful ready-to-eat options and off the shelf and out of the fridge drinks. The menus allow for a range of tastes. I was grateful for the well-presented plentiful side order of fries and my freshly brewed coffee that I was hanging out for.

The revised seating provide for various inside and outside dining arrangements. The pleasant, friendly staff assisted with menu selection.

Good selection of fresh food, good coffee.finally a decent decade.

Nice cafe. Staff friendly all smiles, nice food options. Moko enjoyed her hot chocolate. Nice set up. I would recommend to friends n family. We had a pleasant experience. We would return if in area. Meat pies tasty not that gellatine yukky type pies.

Always consistently great food & coffee with friendly staff which makes for a nice atmosphere.

Great food and very generous helpings. Staff were nice although some of the 'younger staff' need to pay more attention to front of house. Not a gripe just an observation, otherwise efficiency with clearing tables and delivering food and coffee. I recommend the food it's brilliant. Thanks Team

The chief and staff don't even know what Vegan is. In this day and age you would think they would know that! Don't come here if you have any allergies to food, they can't be trusted.

Lots of space and very clean and tidy. Great cabinet food, some ok things on there menu board, hubby really enjoyed the dumplings. Service was quick and friendly however my quiche was not completely heated though which was disappointing because it was lovely tasting. Anyway thanks would probs come again.

Food we ordered was very good, coffee also (maybe better than a 3) but we had to wait a fair while! They did apologise and gave us a biscuit thing free as an apology. Would maybe try again when down that way!

I had a very pleasant ginger slice and a short black while waiting for the second hand bookshop to open.

Lovely friendly staff, great selection of food. Coffee and food that we ordered was excellent and well presented. Cafe was lovely clean and warm with a couple of automated hand sanitising stations.

A great central location in Waipapa for a Café with reasonably priced food.
I like to think I'm a good judge of eggs bene as it's been my Café 'go to' for well over a decade. If you can't do a good bene it's not likely that I'll try anything else. And, by my standards, Lygon's are awesome! A generous portion of protein (salmon), perfectly poached eggs, ample hollandaise and a swirl of a balsamic reduction (that works).
Just in need of a theme, a personality, then express it. This creates the atmosphere
