Marina Cafe Opua

Arrived to a busy location, lovely lady at the counter served us very quickly, I requested to poached eggs to be firm not runny and the sourdough Kumara toast. My order arrived with exceptionally runny eggs. This order was sent back to the kitchen as I had requested firm, eggs, on my return plate I also had grain toast I had requested. Sourdough Kumara bread This was sent back again, and when returned, it was returned by a very grumpy young lady, who was not very happy. Instead of re-cooking, the requested firm eggs, they were simply thrown in hot water and tasted full of water, they were awful. As a local, this was exceptionally disappointed, and it was mentioned to the lady that had taken my order. There was no offer of apology or offer of compensation at all for this terrible meal. Certainly would not recommend this establishment

Purchased a cold meat pie.for $12.00. Broke it in half to share with a friend. One half was empty.

Went to the Opua General Store and bought a piping hot meat pie for $4.00.

Will never return to the cafe again. Beyond extortionate

Worst coffee ever, asked for double shot, just tasted like warm milk, will give it a miss next time!

The service was good and friendly, however what let my rating drop was the meat pie i got, it cost $12 and this was not even close to that of a $12 pie. It had a couple of bits of jelly meat and the rest was gravy, fell apart in my hands dripping gravy everywhere. Im not a fan of gravy pies, and i don't like jelly meat.

Seven of us went for lunch after a bike ride. Male manager? Was quite rude a number of times & directed the first arrivals to a back table out of the way instead of overlooking the marina where they wanted to sit. The cafe was not busy. The waitress however was helpful & personable (improved star rate as would have been a 0 otherwise). As a result we decided to eat quickly instead of the leisurely (more substantial) lunch we had planned. Food was ok but his attitude spoiled it & we would not return.

Quite expensive for what it is. $28 for eggs Benedict is way over the top, and the chips don't come with sauce, that's an extra $1.50.

Beautiful position overlooking marina.
Friendly service but menu was much better a year or so back. Very little in the less than $10.range.

Excellent service. Overpriced; because of no competition? Our friend had a bad reaction to the mushroom gravy/sauce on her breakfast.
We will have our food in Kawakawa next time

Food is delicious, great location and staff are friendly however customer attentiveness needs some improvement. We had to repeatedly ask for service hence the 4 star review.

We had an enjoyable lunch. The chowder was pretty good. Would definitely go back. The service was great.

Had the BLT with fries for lunch. Was definitely worth the money and didn't take very long to come out either. Wait staff were nice and there was a decent amount of seating and shade.

One of my most favourite places to dine. The food is superb. Highly recommend for family and friends to enjoy and meal together.

We stopped here for lunch and the food and service were amazing. Best Thai Beef Salad I have eaten and portions were generous.

What a treat, and live music Sunday pm. David and his team have been great hosts for us while at Bay of Islands Marina. Nov 22 - Aug 23
