I'm soooo happy to finally find somewhere that does a beautiful tasting DAIRY FREE butter chicken. It was amazing. Omg the lamb biryani was so so tasty, you won't regret ir,!

Is an average Indian restaurant in Invercargill. There are other more authentic places. However this place was also cheaper than other places. Would go somewhere else, spend a little more to get a more authentic tasting meal using more spices.

Love the taste of each dish most times try one diffrent. First time I have ordered chicken nibbles for grandchild was saddened ended up with chips in the bag with them only five chicken nibbles.

Great food with good flavours and spice levels, have been a few times now and more recently popped in for lunch with the family! Will be back for sure!

This place is mint!
It has never served a piece of food that wasn't cooked to perfection and delicious. If we get Indian now it's AR!
Their onion bhajis are cool bc you get a big bag full and they are strands of chickpea-batter coated onion instead of formed bhajis and so you get so much for the price, which is such a novelty with places these days.
Their delivery has always been exceptionally fast and it's always hot upon arrival, which is also something a lot of other places could learn from.
They have an extensive collection of dishes, breads, condiments and a few desserts and drinks.
Are there other good Indian restuarants in Invercargill? Yes. But if you don't just want good, then you go here.you will enjoy every mouthful. A+

Best curry in town! Best naan breads in town! Prompt service, hot fresh food. What more could you ask for? Not going anywhere else for curry from this day on!

Love the food. Great service. What's wrong? It's upstairs gets difficult if using walking sticks. But worth the effort. Now 26/3 as above but soso busy with takeaways (poss the removal of covid restrictions) it slowed things down a bit. Good to find they still required proof of vaccination.

Food is not bad, but customer service is poor!
The staff denied everything that she explained to us while ordering and saying something different when we were about to pay. Then suddenly she asked "do you guys not have enough money to pay? ". This is not about money, but how rude is that? Not even a "sorry" from them.

Food was OK taste wise, but I ordered super hot, and it was just mild at best. Delivery was late also. Won't be returning.

Best Butter Chicken in Southland! I ordered a "chefs hot" curry and a mango mild curry from A. R Indian and it was THE BEST curry in town! I was very impressed with the bold authentic flavours in both the meat and the sauce. I also ordered Garlic Naan which was delicious full of flavour and the size of the naan bread was perfect! I have found my new favourite place to order a Curry. The service was fast and friendly with a complimentary Popdom while I waited Thank you A. R Indian Well-done!

Lovely meals everytime we go there at least once or twice a week friendly staff and nice atmosphere, best butter chicken! Love the naann bread too yummy! Super delish my favorite restaurant

**Not going to recommend this place to anyone. **

I thought of trying this place food but things to note for all the customers,

1. My complete family had sore stomach after eating this place food.
2. The Carpet is very old and smelly very much unhealthy for customers. When I walk in the restaurant I can smell the carpet dust.
3. The food is not Indian they cook like a home cooking style served in fancy way.
4. The chef use Chicken Breast in all the dishes and they are hard and not juicy at all.
5. The Naan bread is disgusting and hard to eat after few minutes.

The way you want, they will get it ready for you, delicious food, awesome quality and taste. Some people say it's a bit far from city centre, but I think, if they have the taste alongwith superb food quality, then I will go no other place but AR Indian Restaurant. This place is good for singles, couples and a very good place for families. You will get an awesome environment inside because the service from them is a 5 - star hotel category one.
