Good food. One of the good restaurants in Invercargill. The mains are big. Two mains can feed three people.

Amazing meals of oysters with vegetables and blue cod. Loved being picked up and dropped off so we could share a glass of wine. Great ambience and wonderful understanding service.

The food here is great, service is always on point and they even offer original German beer in 1L glasses. Although you have to be precise about wanting the extra large beer and just an 0.5L glass. The atmosphere is also very nice and the menu as a newspaper is a nice touch. Would recommend if you want to experience a nice restaurant in Great atmosphere and are willing to spend a little bit extra on a special occasion.

Went for a work meal out. I ordered the 500gram choaker steak, unfortunately it was the toughest I've ever had despite supposedly being initially slow cooked for 20 hours. The duck fat roast potatoes i would not have again, just baby potatoes with skin on, slightly crisp but not the proper roasted taters one would expect.

Venue was great, bar staff and others very good, just my meal was not what I expected.

Absolutely no one there even when the doors are wide open. We called out to see if anyone is on duty, no one. Where's the staff?

So we came out last night, 2 adults, 3 boys plus the baby.
Jen loved her venison pie, loved the whitebait, the meat feast was amazing.
Service is excellent, kids loved the cheese burgers, and pretty sure baby loved his food too.

It's no surprise that we've come out 6 plus times in the past year alone.

Hands down the best blue cod I have had. The simplicity of the dish, made the blue cod the star. The service was amazing and the venue was intimate and classy. My new favorite place to dine in Invercargill.

I recently had the chance to dine at the Buster Crabb bar with my partner, and I was really impressed with the overall experience. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We were a party of four last night and the first time my wife and I ate out at Buster Crabb. The chicken served to my wife was RAW! The dish was returned and shown to the manager in charge and the waitress who offered to redo the dish. We were not charged for that item. My wife declined another order, unfortunate and not a good first time experience.

Food is amazing and worth every penny. Each morsel of this duck leg is divine. The duck is cooked well, mash is worth every calorie (if you are on a diet). Walnut crumb is amazing, i wanted more of it. And the grapes is so good; its refreshing and cleansing to the palate. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere is perfect. There's quite a wait before the food is served but its all worth it. Perfection or near to it takes time

Absolute gem in Invercargill! The best service I think I've ever had, Nick took our booking on the phone, greeted us at the bar whilst we waited for our table and engaged with in lovely banter. Also recommended booking the courtesy shuttle after dinner and made sure I had my doggy bag packed. Food was fresh, super tasty and just perfect.

Finally made it. Great food, great wine list, really great team who looked after us superbly. Invercargill has a growing food culture and it should have when you see whats grown on the local whenua and in the awa. Its is part of what makes us Southland

We had the most amazing dining experience at Buster Crabb last night. The meal was outstanding. Service could not be faulted.

Good restaurant with some very fancy dishes selection and good beer! A little bit pricey but you get what you pay.

What a find. Excellent menu and superb food. Extensive wine list. Host kindly picked us up and dropped us back to our accommodation in restaurant Shuttle. You MUST book!

Excellent service and amazing food, we had the market catch which was beer battered orange roughly and it was brilliant and the portions sizes were huge.
Staff were very very friendly and very good at their jobs.

I actually hate to leave less-than-stellar reviews, but we were pretty underwhelmed by this place after seeing its ratings.

The portions were a bit stingy for the price. As a San Franciscan who has eaten my fair share of our native cioppinos, I don't think I've ever before been unsatisfied after one. It was a bit over-salted too, which balanced out my husband's slightly underseasoned blue cod.

The staff were lovely, friendly, and attentive.

Overall not a bad experience, just underwhelming. I absolutely don't mind paying for a great meal, but this was higher priced than a lot of other options without being special enough to justify splurging.

Excellent food extensive drinks list only thing that could be improved would be if the serving staff were more regular checking for drinks (Maybe we were drinking to quickly). Otherwise simply excellent great venue and menu!
