Waffles were delicious. Fast and friendly service and excellent presentation. Definitely recommend the vanilla milkshake too.

Very friendly staff and they were even giving free coffee if you name was "Christopher".

Came in for a bite to eat on our long drive to Invercargill.
Was happy to sit down and eat but my partner wanted her drink in a take away cup to continue our drive after a Bite to eat. Was told no take awy cups in cafe as saves on waste!
Understandable.but we wanted take away cups to take with us pretty obvious.
Then heated my soggy quiche as a takeaway option with no cerviete or cutlery offered?
Saving on waste?
Cafe policy is a bit slow bit like the regional council.

Stopped in while traveling with hubby for his work. So excited to see so many gluten free options! Had a delightful lemon slice. Highly recommend this place.

This was the highest rating cafe on Trip Advisor, and because I didn't know better I took the advice of TA. I wasn't disappointed. Despite being on the dark-side of the road for a breakfast, the cafe was absolutely humming, full of people, locals and outsiders alike. The food was really good. I had granola, and they said they couldn't get the fruit for it that they normally had, then proceeded to list all the fruit they could give me. It was a great breakfast—thanks heaps for going out of your way to accommodate me. Highly recommended, and totally lives up to ratings on other platforms.

Great service and fabulous food. Our hot drinks arrived quickly and the muffin and scone were so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend.

I had the Southern Man and it was great just the thing to set you up for a day of sightseeing.

Lovely little Cafe, with a lot of options in food on menu and in the display and a great options of drinks. Food was delicious! The staff is super friendly and keeping it all nice and tidy.

Lovely little place. Food is very nice, and good options for vegetarians. Only let down was that they gave me the wrong cake and when I took it back they were not happy about it.

Stopped in Gore on our way back to Queenstown and needed some food and coffee.

Popped into here and was super excited to see there were plenty of vegan options available. From breakfast options to lunch!

I got some toasted sandwiches with vegan cheese and they hit just the spot! It was good vegan cheese that melted and tasted so good! My only regret was not ordering a third one!

Coffee was quite nice and just what we needed on our drive. When I come back to NZ, this place will be high on my places to pop back to for a good meal!

Friendly staff, sandwiches were well toasted and full of flavour - you would definitely want to add on more ingredients. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Gore!

Delicious breakfast! What a find between Invercargill & Dunedin. Gluten free toast tasted like non gf. Excellent service! Food cooked perfectly. Coffee great! Highly recommend!

Small sitdown cafe in the middle of Gore. Coffee isn't my favourite, but the porridge I had (Gore's speciality:) was great.

Nice clean outside toilet, have to go through the kitchen. People are friendly and kind.

Love the use of cow ear tags as table numbers. Very appropriate.

Beautiful assortment of cabinet food along with menu options.
Coffee was 10/10 - smooth, delicious and hot temperature.
I ordered a flat white and granola and the friendly staff member double checked as the granola came with cows milk.

If you're traveling through Gore or visiting YOU HAVE TO COME TO THIS CAFE! Simply gorgeous array of food, cakes quiches and super cheap blackboard menu. Fantastic

What a cool cafe! Loved the range of vegan and gluten free options across sweet and savory. I tried the raspberry tart and the baked potato, both vegan and gf, and both were absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend. Also have a bliss ball which I am yet to try and looking forward to.:)

Best café ever! And I have travelled at least 70% of New Zealand. It is the combination of a sublime range of food and drinks, a cozy relaxed environment with the most amazing friendly service. I love that they do vouchers and sell takeaway cups too. FRIENDS Central Perk was iconic but this is more so!

Twice now my husband and I have visited this cafe.the first time they mucked up our order, and now sadly today we had to leave alot of our two meals as the bacon and mushrooms were not cooked, this is not ideal but on a good note, the coffee was great.although I do feel a bit miffed us ending up paying $50 for coffees

I'm from the states and when we went to New Zealand now three years ago we stopped at Cafe Ambiance on our way south. Let me just say WOW! The food is to die for, the people are so unbelievably friendly, and the prices were very affordable. My wife and I loved it so much that we drove 45 minutes out of our way on the way north to go back through Gore and stop here for breakfast again!

3 Years have passed and I still think of the two most amazing little breakfasts I had at Cafe Ambiance. I hope i can retire in Gore simply to go here daily!

Do yourself a favor and eat here for me and savor every dang bite!
