Curry guru THE MALABAR KITCHEN reviews
52 Had a lovely Chicken Marsala - medium spicy. With garlic nann. Food was very tasty.
Small dine in, guessing mostly take away as it’s in neighborhood area.
Was great dinner!
Friendly hospitable staff, prepared fast fresh food:) Saved the day coming back into town last minute Christmas eve!
Love the currys from here, they have very friendly service and amazing food. Best one in Invercargill
Love their curry! Garlic nann is generously sized and hot and crispy. Their lunch special is a steal in today’s economy.
The food is really very delicious and the staff is very friendly, polite, helpful and ever smiling. Highly recommend this one.
Very friendly staff, by far the BEST curry we’ve tasted. Our meal was brought right out to the car for us when it was ready. Very great service!
They have a happy hour deal and it works out $20 cheaper than another curry business in town (I won’t name drop) Definitely our new local. Thanks
Couldn’t be happier with the food we ordered! My lover and myself had been craving some delicious Indian food since our voyage in the north island. Our man here at Curry Guru is an absolute boss dawg. Never have I ever tasted such succulent chicken. My vegetarian lover was also extremely impressed by the vegetable korma. Also the cheese and garlic naan bread was other worldly. If we were Invercargill locals this would 100 percent be our Sunday delight every week. Much love to the Curry Guru, we’ll never see the likes of you again.
Great service from the team on Tay super friendly
Food speaks for its self!
Absolutely beautiful curry! - Naan Breads!
Couldn't ask for more from such a friendly local business!
Very friendly service and got a good deal on our large order. Curry was nice but have had better in invercargill. Cheese n garlic Naan had very little cheese (if any) may try again when getting a smaller order. Thanks for the lovely service
100% the best Indian food in Invercargill, great service! Will definitely continue to return. Recommend to all.
I am from Auckland travel down to Invercargill. It is very rare to had good taste of Indian food outside of Auckland.
However this store has a proper taste.
Highly recommend for Indian Style Butter Chicken. So yummm, a bit spicy, portioned is enough for 2 adults.
Nevertheless, chef really surprised me.
I’ll give 5 stars.
Our go to place every time we crave indian curries! Food is soooo good - you’ll keep coming back! On top of that amazing customer service from Lalit - he’ll go above and beyond to accommodate us even sometimes we order last minute! Highly recommended! Must try curry place in Invercargill!
Best customer service and delicious food
Must try chicken Naan & Tandoori Platter.
Visited last year but still I remember the taste of their food. So delicious. Will absolutely come back for holidays.
Last time I ordered butter chikan, Masada dosa cheese garlic nan and mango chikan super test and quantity and quality is good. I want to give you 5/5.
Curr Guru Malabar Kitchen make the best curry meals ever! They are so yummy and the sauce is so smooth and delicious
Best indian in town and the service is even better. Thank you so much for a wonderful night and very fast (:
Usually can't fault this place but tonight I got a vegetable korma and it was disgusting! Just mixed vegetables in a sauce, it was like a thick pea and corn soup, don't recommend. Fish curry tasted burnt and had a big burnt something in it. Butter chicken didn't taste as good as usual either.
Always great curries served at The Malabar Kitchen. We always buy takeaway with their deal, which unfortunately keeps rising in price, currently in May 2022 it's $35 for 2 curries, 2 naan and a container of rice. They also include a stamp card as a bit of an incentive to buy again. Usually they're reliable with their portions, with acceptable amounts of meat and vegetables in their gravy. However, there have been times where Beef was substituted for Chicken in a Vindaloo, despite the receipt saying it should be Beef Vindaloo. There is a variance in spiciness too, never quite sure how hot "hot" will be. Nevertheless, we'll always buy from here because there isn't another curry restaurant which such value, particularly for takeaway.
