Fiordland Great Views Holiday Park reviews
32The price-performance ratio is great! Very clean and equipped with everything you need. Toilets and showers are very modern, especially for a campsite.
We really enjoyed our stay at this holiday park. The lady at reception was very pleasant and accommodating. The room and facilities were extremely clean.
Reception attendant was rude and ignored us as we tried to get in to the reception building to check-in. Did not feel welcomed here - would not stay again. Room was clean with a small bar area to eat at. No bath towels provided. Communal male and female showers and toilets are a short walk away and were clean and modern. Because of the location, excellent place for stargazing. Located on the outskirts of Te Anau, in a gated facility.
Nice place, clean and not too expensive. If only there were better ventilation in the rooms / apartments (condensation in the morning), and furniture (or at least hangers) in the bathroom, that’d be
Nice place at the beginning of the road for milfrod sound. Nice and clean facility, recommended.
An amazing campsite. Our favourite on our New Zealand Campervan trip. Toilets and Showers were impeccable and the hostess was lovely. It was super quiet at night time too.
Staff were friendly and texted check in details as we knew we’d be arriving in the evening. Nicest bathrooms we’ve seen in any hostel or campsite in New Zealand.
To avoid ABSOLUTELY!
Abject welcome. After two months in NZ, this is the first time that we have been welcomed like dogs.
Dilapidated kitchen with almost no utensils and appliances out of order.
Spaces too small and poorly designed.
Go on your way and for a few dollars more go down near the lake where the welcome is as usual a real pleasure.
Great place to camp. I love how it has wee hedges between sites for some privacy.
Thr bathroom facilities are modern and clean. Will definitely be back
Actually not bad
There is no air-conditioning, but it is actually cool enough after nightfall
Great place. Looks good, clean and beds are good. Everything is there and there is also a large camping kitchen with equipment for cooking. You do need a car to reach Te Anau. It is located on top of a hill overlooking the Bay.
Worst place ever!
I visited NZ 6 years ago and I can't forget how unwelcoming and rude was the lady!
They gave me camping accomodation for my van but very inconvenient to park.
After check in I decided to go for a visit in the town and while I was unparking with a lot of difficulties due to the configuration of the camping accomodation and I accidently "touched" a pole. I got out of the van to check for any damages and no nothing was to declare so I left for my visit.
When I got back they changed me of camping accommodation and charged me 100$ claiming that the pole was damaged!
I tried to explain first that there were no damages so I didn't understanf how they could charge me and anyway it was very difficult to unpark from this accomodation and they should have known. She answered I had to learn how to drive.
I visited maybe 40 countries over the past years and I had never been treated this way! This event almost ruined my stay in NZ and I'm still thinking of it 6 years later!
And when I see the LONG list of very bad comments especially on the rudness and dishonesty of the lady.even if she denies everything we can't suspect that so much people are lying in their comments.
Bed was comfy, a kettle in the room but no water, taps in kitchen were both hot even though labeled hot and cold. Lots of appliances in kitchen and change rooms were put of order. You are expected to pay to use pots and pans and other items.
There was no "great views", price for a basic tent site is far to much. Helicopters fly over constantly in the mornings. Bathrooms and showers where nice. Campground well laid out and tidy. No customer service. This is what banning freedom camping leads to. Still yet to see any "evidence" of disrespectful freedom camping but see the obvious and egotistical money grab on the other side.
Absolutely beautiful grounds and cute wee cabin we stayed in however the beds were horrible, foam mattresses on a metal base are not good for adults and bad backs.
Good size and clean kitchen area although i recommended taking your own cooking equipment it is very minimally stocked, a few of the stove elements don't work neither do the power points in the kitchen.
Clean nice toilet and shower area.
Would use the camping section again but probably wouldn't use the cabins due to the beds.
On arrival at the security gate we had no idea how to get in - on ringing the number, the lady said she had texted details for this but she hadn't. I had booked online and assumedly paid using my credit card, only to receive a text a week after our stay to say that I hadn't aid, they had no credit card machine working and could I pay into their bank account. Shocking customer service!
Lovely campsite and facilities. Liked the security and the washrooms were really nice. Great to have kettle, toaster and crockery in the cabin. Would love to give it more stars if it wasn't for the uncomfortable bed with just a foam mattress on steel mesh frame.
Best Campground in Te Anau. We checked out all the camp grounds in town before settling on this one. Beautiful grounds with hedging for privacy and nice views over the mountains river and lake. Clean facilities and hot showers. Only 3mins into town and totally worth it.
Very clean cabins, There is also a playground. The bath rooms near the playground are the best. U can buy nougat and stuff at the recption
Avoid this place at all cost. The reception lady is rude and demand the balance of the accommodation in cash which is ridiculous. I suspect that they want cash to avoid paying tax. Although they are Qualmark accommodation, I seriously think they should be disqualified from operating this place
