Today we took the bus from Te Anau to Milford Sound and then took a 2 hour trip on a catamaran. It was great from start to finish. Sacha is a great bus driver and entertaining too. The bus is a minibus for a maximum of 16 people and you will be picked up at the hotel.
We made some great stops along the way and Sacha always had something to tell. The catamaran wasn't that huge (very pleasant) and the captain was always there with good information. There was also food: tea and scones. And cookies/coffee/tea. We were out from 8 a.m. To 5: 30 p.m.

The Milford Sound tour was amazing from start to finish. The tour guide Tarnia was so knowledgeable and very personable with a quirky sense of humour. She made everyone on the tour feel very welcome. The boat cruise was also amazing.
From the scones at morning tea to our lunch was very tasty.
Anyone choosing this company will definately not be disappointed.

One of the best experiences in NZ we‘ve made so far! Milford sound is amazing but
so was our incredible tour guide Tania. She told us so many interesting and fun things about the region and NZ in general. What an inspiring person - if you have the chance make sure you‘re on a ride with her.

The group was small (16 people), but we had plenty of space in the bus and Tania made sure everyone felt comfortable. We also took a bit of a different schedule compared to other and larger tourist buses which made it even more special.

We took a day trip to Milford Sound from Te Anau with Jamie. He was a fantastic guide and was keen to show us all the amazing places on the way to Milford Sound. Highly recommend to anyone looking to do a day trip to Milford Sound.

Jamie our guide and driver was awesome. He knows the area so well and made stops at really picturesque places for us to get the most wonderful pictures. He even knows the whereabout of the KEA birds! Ray was our point of contact before arriving New Zealand and everything was perfectly organised. The car they used for our private tour was very comfortable. Everything was well planned.

We booked the extraordinaire tour in March 2023 and had an amazing time - our guide Russell had so much local knowledge about the area and shared lots of fun facts. Plenty of great photo stops on the drive over and the Milford cruise itself was stunning. We had a short morning tea break with delicious scones and the packed lunch was great too. Definitely recommend!

The luxury of being driven to Milford has numerous benefits, especially if you have a relaxed, personable, and knowledgeable guide such as Steven. I highly recommend this tour. The package includes Cruise Milford (a comfortable, and more intimate boat tour) plus, you also have the option of adding a breathtaking Milford helicopter tour. Spectacular!

Our driver and tour guide Steven was excellent! Encyclopedic knowledge paired with plenty of humorous anecdotes, Steven was personally attentive and accommodating to each attendee in our diverse group of 14 riders, comprised of Americans, Australians, Dutch, and Germans. We enjoyed the morning tea, lookouts, and short hikes while en route from Te Anau to Milford Sound, where we were transferred onto a boat with Cruise Milford (another great team and experience).

If there was any hiccup from the day, it was due to a miscommunication over lunch, which we had opted not to purchase as a tour add-on (and communicated our decision late). Fiordland Tours didn’t want us to starve and presumed to include lunch for us, which we ended up paying for (on top of the lunches we had packed). If Fiordland Tours is going to err on being hospitable, I won’t complain…

Small group tours is a great way to experience the Milford area and enjoy a cruise in the fantastic sound. Guide Russell has a wealth of knowledge with a passion for the area that is infectious.

Great thing about this tour comes from how close they are to Milford sound and the timings allowing you to enjoy each viewpoint or highlight without large crowds.

Amazing tour! Everything was perfect! Not only the cruise in the fiords but also the trip to get there: we had time to stop and take pictures, do small trekking around the waterfalls, enjoy some good tea and biscuits and chocolate - for the ones who knew the answers to the questions He knew how to entertain us! Loved it!

Great value for money, the best experience we’ve had in our week in New Zealand. The tour itself left plenty of time for stop offs with photo opportunities. We never felt rushed at all. Plenty of time to soak up the views. There was a spectacular and easy scenic walk through the rainforest. Beautiful opportunity for a photo of the natural flora and waterfalls. We saw the iconic Kea bird on the way back without the crowds which was a highlight.

Our tour guide Jono was an encyclopaedia of information on a number of topics. He has knowledge of many topics. He was extremely informative in the topics of history, culture, geology and wildlife. He allowed flexibility based on what our small group was keen for.

On the 2 hour cruise in Milford Sound, we were lucky to see a pod of bottle nose dolphins, some Fiordland crested penguins and seals. There was tea and coffee provided on the cruise.

Overall a fantastically organised tour with a small group which I would recommend highly.

Lovely day out with Ray who is knowledgeable about the area and a friendly guide indeed. Much better than self driving or flying in - the stops along the way make it special. Loved the home made scones!

We loved this tour. Ray, our guide, was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. We were going to drive it ourselves it so glad we didn’t. Ray was full of interesting information and knew all the best spots to stop for photos etc. He even took us on the boat and showed us the best seats! We loved the little quizzes and chocolate prizes as well. A fabulous day and next time we’re back we’ll definitely go with Fiordland tours.

I highly recommend this company. We had an awesome day trip to Milford Sound and 'Jonno', our tour driver was excellent. He has a wealth of knowlege on the area covered on the bus trip, also very friendly and helpful. We were picked up and dropped off from where we were staying at Lakeview Kiwi Holiday park. The lunch and morning tea provided by Fiordland Tours was excellent. Many thanks for making our trip an absolute delight.
