Very popular place. Excellent gluten free menu. Prompt friendly service. Lots of street parking nearby.

Nice food. Great staff and the Guinness was cold. Says it all, actually. Been there twice and happy with it.

Gluten free menu is great! Food was not that good. Very helpful and friendly service. Lots of tv screens if you like that for atmosphere.

Nothing to fault hence 5 stars. From the easy online booking system and email confirmation, to Tony's service and easy going demeanour to the great food, dinks and atmosphere for a mid Sat afternoon I just wish we lived locally so we could do it more often.

I visited twice during the week ending 4 March 2023. I have experienced consistently good food from Speight's Ale Houses throughout NZ, and this one is no exception. Both times, evening meals. What stood out was old fashioned un-hurried hospitality, and a staff dynamic with an inherent warmth. Special shout out to the charming, obliging and erudite Ben, who flitted between barman, maitre d, and waiter, and who demonstrated a gentle leadership of the other staff ; This genuine and kind attitude was shared by all staff, a real team effort. Every customer there was treated well and the food was better than my good expectations. Legendary Southern hospitality delivered with a mix of aplomb and sprezzatura. A credit to the Speights brand, and a credit to Invercargill.

Great separate Gluten Free menu. Great meal and very friendly staff nothing was a bother. Will definitely go back next time we are in Invercargill.

My husband and I had dinner here. Very pleasant place, quite trendy. There was a guy and a young dark haired girl working when we arrived and they were both lovely and friendly and warm. Made us feel welcome.
We both ordered the roast pork and it did not disappoint, the service was very efficient, we waited less than 20 minutes.
We left feeling very satisfied. Well done!

Just had dinner there tonight, the food was delicious and our server Sage was an absolute delight, she made our night and is a credit to your business.

Speights ale house is fantastic. Myself and my dining partner go there often, the food is delicious and consistent and the service is awesome. One server in particular a tall slim man offers some of the best service this terrible town has to offer. Here’s what my dining partner has to say. Give that man a raise!

Awesome kid-friendly dining option! Kids were happily occupied with their colouring and sticker sets and kids' meals. Food was lovely and portion is generous!
