Thai Thai Restaurant reviews
76 Delicious. Authentic. Friendly staff.
Visited last week. Got locked in toilet as handle was stuffed. Awkward and embarrassing but staff made it look 'no issue ' bit it was.
Not convinced they are going to fix it.
Take your phone to the toilet and beware!
Very expensive considering its average at best quality. Charged $18 for a curry and found out I had to pay an extra $4.50 just to have some pork in my curry.
Over priced for the quality. Made you pay extra for meat that should be included. Wouldnt eat here again.
We ordered fresh prawn spring rolls and it was just lettuce, carrots and prawn.
Our medium green curry was way to spicy!
Difficult review as the food was well prepared but way too spicy for a 'medium'.
Other than the chilli level, a well put together meal. Chef needs a slap.
Food was great and you can choose how hot you want your dish. Friendly staff and prices are just right.
Dont order fresh spring rolls just all lettuce one piece of mint and a prawn, no vermicelli noodles no coriander or herbs totally lacked flavour. So did the clear noodle soup, but lastly and I am in disbelief those who have experienced true thai cuisine will understand me, there sticky rice was green in one lump real chewy and parts were hard, sticky rice is one of my favorite dishes, and I dont no if any of these cooks are actually from Thailand but that is not coconut sticky rice oh and there was know coconut cream or coconut anything. I will not return and would advise true thai lovers not to eat there, was never once asked if my meal was ok thank you very much, my partner and I were so disgusted I walked out, also ask your waiter I clearly asked if your spring rolls atleast contained coriander and he said yes a lie. I have spent a long time in Thailand and never came across sticky rice green rice like you served also your menu says sticky rice and durian, not sticky rice and durian sauce, so maybe you should change your menu. And your reply had made me realize even more reason not to return or get people I know to go there as your answers are lies.
Food was good but not great. Good flavour but ingredients and presentation mediocre. Leaving a bitter taste: I asked why they charged a different price than on the menu They said it is for sitting in the restaurant. But then as I left, the menu at the door has the same pricing.
Following the comment from Thai Thai, I've changed this from two stars to one. I had looked at the menu at the door and ordered without opening the menu I was handed. Since the menu at the door and at check out lacked any markings I saw or pointed out to me, I now consider this a violation of the Fair Trading Act - hmmm, maybe worth a lot more than a dollar!
I had the peanut sauce stir fry for lunch, made hot and vegan, and folx, it was a real delight. The food was served in no time and the heat was perfect. The portion was generous, and served with rice, so I didn't have to buy that on top, which is always a bit of a bonus. I will definitely be heading back, and soon!
Great food, good service. We sat by the kitchen and found it was really cold. They must have the windows open to ventilate the kitchen but this cold air flowed through into the restaurant area.
The vegetarian spring rolls, pad Thai & green curry are my favourites! Nice addition to Southland's takeaways scene. Good portions and loads of fresh vege.
Delicious Thai food, very fast food service of our entrees/mains and very friendly happy staff. My partner and I will definitely be back for dinner again when were back in Invercargill. Thanks guys!
We ordered pad thai and glass noodles. Both were amazingly delicious. It was nice of them to put spicy chilis in the corner to allow making the dish as hot as you want! Will definitely order from them again!
Pretty good Thai food. I really liked their lunch promotion. Heaps of selection and it is priced reasonably. I had the Thai Green Curry (tofu option). Also on a cold day, do try tom yam (or if you are looking for a quick hangover cure!)
Honestly speaking, having been to Thailand the food here isnt all that true to the authenticity of the great taste of Thailand. The food lacks of certain fresh ingredients like garlic and ginger and a popular fresh ingredient that is the lemon grass i find less than amusing to say the least. Unfortunately, theres also a bad taste of MSG which is deceptively profiting a fair bit from the inexperienced palate. However, overall i do find it reasonably tasty to the extent that i occasionally come back to reminisce of the thai dishes that i so loved.
Clean, very friendly staff, fast orders, after this experience its doubtful I'd go for Chinese again while this option here.my new favorite
So glad to have you guys back after lockdown. Lunch was, as always AMAZING! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for superior Thai food and great value too.
Very friendly staff they are doing very good job but I was disappointing with the food.was not a large portion I was expecting a bit more. Taste was good.
Delicious! Authentic, good portions, great price - lunch special! We went every day we were in Invercargill. My favorite was the Tom kha, my partner's fav was the red curry. Drunken noodles were also de-lish. I miss it already
This restaurant may be small, but its food really does pack a lot of great taste! Not only was the food good, but the atmosphere was great and the owners were from Thailand and knew all of the thai customs and flavours. It was also packed full of people who were all enjoying their meals. I would definitely go again!
Town was dead quiet on a rainy day. Walked in to this aromatic restaurant. Pad Thai was the ultimate favourite, other dishes was well flavoured and spicy enough. Luckily we didn't had to wipe out the water in Invercargill water tower.
