The Lodge Athol and Holiday Park reviews
15 Great site for cheap camping spot and a hot shower!
The "kitchen area" is just a tiny shed with a sink, electric kettle, and fridge so don't plan to be able to cook in it. However it looks like maybe they are building a full size kitchen/shared space which would make it really cool.
Nice easy, simple and cheap: $10pp for non-powered tent, with shower and basic kitchen supplies, laundry available. No Wifi, no extra, but the place is cute, flat and clean.
$10 pp / unpowered side
Toilet, hot shower, water, microwave, small fridge, no sand flies
Not super clean but
Quiet good with cheap price
Great Spot, excellent value. River behind the park has some good size trout and Looks like a good river to fish.
Beautiful location and very friendly and helpful owner. Helped us to find cash out to stay the night. Shower and toilet facilities are available. Very quaint place with a river to catch trout.
A stunning spot with basic yet perfectly good amenities. $50 for 4 adults at a powered site is amazing! The view is out of this world. Lovely greased areas. Cattle in the paddock to our left and alpacas and sheep behind us how amazeballs! Each powered site has its own toilet/shower, so no having to share-Yay. Shower is hot, although water pressure is not amazing. The owners are lovely and helpful.
There is a nearby river to fish, and a local cafe/dinner spot- "The brown trout cafe" that made a fabulous dinner takeaway. Wish we could stay longer? If you like gorgeous, quiet country side you'll love it
Really enjoyed staying here. Very basic. Clean amendities, uncrowded, peaceful and self service
Great spot. Camped up in the holiday park for two nights while spending a day at the NZ Fly Fishing School across the road. Beautiful quiet spot with our own private bathroom.
Only 2 minutes walk to the river. Spotted some trout but couldn't catch them. But did find a couple of freshly laid eggs from the local hen community.
Very cheap but shower was horrible, no light at night and kitchen very simple, if you only want stay for one night will be fine.
Perfect stopover on the way back from Milford Sound to set us up for going to Wanaka the following day.
Non powered tent camping $10 each, hot shower, toilet and use of kettle, microwave and running water.
Quiet, friendly and very cute setting.
Stayed at the holiday park, had a wonderful stay. Toilets and shower! Just $10 pp for a non self-contained vehicle/tent.
A great camping place, the powered site are with a private bathroom, really good! And it's cheap!)
Beautiful small campground. Good prices. River fishing a short walk away. Powered sites have small ensuite room, toilet/shower/hand basin. Awesome scenery. Quiet. Owners friendly and helpful. If you're going there make sure you have cash to pay. Will definitely be going back, close to home for a relaxing weekend away.
We're staying here while we bike the trail. Great place to stay - space, friendly and helpful hosts, dog friendly, excellent facilities. We've stayed before and we'll be back.
Small park. Stayed here for 6 nights in total. It's a great place to call home base if you want to day trip to Queenstown, Milford Sound and other scenery. The park fills up around 5pm-6pm. Make sure you arrive no later than 4pm in the summer for unpowered. Select showers have hot water. #4 shower is only cold. Grass sites are great for tents and gravel suits vans. Good kitchen area with fridge, freezer, washer, sink, toaster and kettles. Would love to come back. Few farm animals roaming about as well gives it a homey touch.
