Lush Cafe and Gelato

Ordered your Taranaki Mince. Normally this dish has a sweet tangy flavour which I assume is from the sauces and relish you put in it, but today that was missing, I could only taste chilli and tomatoes. Disappointed as I usually love this meal.

We came in today I ordered the eggs Benny eggs were hard boiled. My son wanted a slice of pizza out of the cabinet. He got given a wrap which he didn’t want or like but I paid for. Went back up to order 2 slices of the pizza he wanted as he’s hungry now got one slice of the one he wanted and he got the other slice the vege version? Staff were lovely but cost me mega bucks to get a simple order right. The waffles were lovely but not recommended today overall from our experience

Went in to get gelato on a Thursday evening and the place smelt so strongly of sour milk we had to turned straight back around and leave. It was awful

Taranaki mince on ciabatta with fried egg for me and big breakfast for my Tane… One of the best dinning breakfasts we’ve had in Aotearoa. Great coffee, good committed service. Comfortable seating in moody relaxed environment. We entered from the ST and were surprised to see it lead into the Centre City shopping centre definitely didn’t feel like a mall space.

The breakfast was so good we stretched our stay to fit dessert for lunch - glad we did the cheese cake and gelato with a shot of coffee “tino reka” ;)

Busy little spot on Father’s Day. Service at the counter could have been a little better but on the whole a great experience! Excellent food, very clean and tasty. Came out fast too. Will definitely be back.

Arrived at 3.20 and although they claim to be open until 4 they could not even give us icecream because they had already packed it away.

Friendly and cosy. There's places to sit and talk. I prefer other treats, so I can't speak about the gelato, but what we did buy was all good.

Went here on a Wednesday afternoon before work and all I can say is wow, had the most delicious gf passionfruit friand and the most tastiest iced coffee known to man. I will 1000% be coming back

Atmosphere, food and service were brilliant. Some if the best café food I've ever had. Great value for money.

Elegant & pleasant atmosphere. Nice coffee. Only finished the carrot cake cos I was hungry.

Amazing staff, super nice to all of us. Good drinks and food was good aswell. Definitely a go to when tired in the mall.

Another wonderful experience, really enjoy stopping in for brunch when in New Plymouth.
Like a lot of places really under the pump and though there was a chef required sign at the door all 5 breakfasts were exceptional.
All staff were fantastic.
Looking forward to stopping in again when we are down that way.

We had a Big breakfast and scrambled eggs for brekkie and it was delicious, extremely tasty and value for money.service was top notch.

Had amazing food today! The eggs Benedict is amazing! The eggs were cooked perfectly and same with the bacon! I come here often but today was the best meal so far!

I ordered a carrot cake for an office anniversary.

The taste, decoration and the service was of a high standard.

I also tried their mango gelato. This was divine. Would highly recommend.

I had this concoction of roast kumara with chicken and sausage with an egg on top. I wasnt expecting a combo of both chicken and sausage together. The chicken was rubbery. I couldn't finish it, it was so bad. First bite, I wasnt sure what it was I had in my mouth, for a moment I wondered, was it tofu? Is it because its left overs all rehashed from the day before, how olds the chicken, has it been reheated/microwaved? Just how do you get the chicken so rubbery? With what Im paying to eat out I expect better. I was with family for lunch, which I paid for all three of us about $30 without drinks and I didn't want to complain in front of family. I'm almost over eating out.

Used to love it here butfeel it has gone downhill sorry. Ordered the pancakes. Top was burnt so they kindly gave me a voucher, Next time i went ordered the pancakes again.so disapointed as they were so dry.

Cabinet food is delicious and well presented. Comfortable, warm seating area with range of options to suit. Efficient service

Food is always delicious and staff are very friendly. We can't come too often though as it's a bit on the expensive side, but worth it if you want to treat yourself!
