Cafe Melbourne reviews
75Absolutely delicious, great coffee & food, lovely and warm on a wet wintery day. We will be back for sure. Loved it.
Super unexpected in this small town. Cosy and modern. Delicious dishes (a bit salty for me). But unusual. Good coffee. Service is great!
Zero customer service. Would not serve the breakfast menu at 11: 30am although it states it is served until 12pm. When asked if they wouldn't mind doing a simple breakfast off the menu due to dietaries for one individual, still refused. Would have walked out if I wasn't with a group of people. Absolutely not what you would expect for a 'cafe in Melbourne'.
A good place to catch up with friends and family. Unobtrusive, friendly staff serve good food and coffee etc. Recommended
We stopped by for a quick bite before heading up the Pinnacles track. The street was quite busy so it was hard to find parking near the cafe. We parked a bit down the road and walked down. The cafe is quite large. There is a large table by the entrance as well as a large dining area by the counter. There was also a fairly large outdoor seating area around the back. The Cafe is connected to a small alley with a few shops. They don't have Wifi.
They have a menu as well as cabinet food. The tasting platter did look interesting but ended up going with an almond croissant with an iced chocolate. You order at the counter and the food gets served to you. Both items were quite nice. The Iced chocolate also had a scoop of ice cream and cream. The almond croissant was heated well so it was still crunchy. You had options of cream or yoghurt to go with it. A friend got a bowl of chips and they were nice and crisp, served with both aioli and tomato sauce. The outdoor area was quite a nice place to sit, surrounded by plants.
Delicious coffee, and great outdoor space. Wish there was more cabinet food though, after 3pm when the kitchen closes theres not much to chose from.
We have eaten at many places, and this was the best breakfast I have ever had. Coffee was fantastic and the the mushroom dish was to die for!
We will be back and telling all our Wellington friends to come!
Pricey, not a good service from the waiters, they served the food over your face instead of going around the table where the intended customer is sitting.
Consistently good.always changing up the menu with whats in season but the favorites are always available.best mocha in Thames too.lovely clean toilet also
Welcomed by a lovely staff member who let us know where we could sit and even gave us a great breakfast recommendation. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating and efficient service - overall a stellar brunch experience!
Highly recommend the fish curry. Delicious. Also the beef burger. Not the traditional beef pattie but a generous portion of pulled beef. Yummy! Excellent service and lots of cool areas to eat inside or outside, plus a selection of boutique shops and Coromandel Distillery to occupy yourself after your meal.
Wow, just wow! After walking up and down the street I was worried that we're going to be stuck eating boring old carb-rich white people food (yes I'm white people)
We were so pleasantly surprised when we walked into this place and saw the menu.
I had the pork belly salad, and boost juice. Both were done to perfection with rich flavours and amazing textures.
What a great little place and what a surprise to find it in Thames. I will literally be detouring to eat here on a regular basis whenever I'm coming through!
Delicious! The food was amazing and they were really helpful with a severe allergy, double checking with the chef.
Loved the Melbourne vibe, with the lane way of shops. Plus. Excellent food and coffee! A great little gem in Thames.
Great Cafe. Really enjoy going there ~ Drink Menu Is great
The Dishes boy is the man I would recommend saying to him Big Chungus because he will start doing a dance and then do a back flip.
(He will most likely be wearing a Bright orange beanie)
Went to cafe melbourne for breakfast and coffee with family! Had bacon and eggs for breakfast and coffee was perfect.
Awsome cafe Russell you've done well.
We visited here a week ago and were a little astounded regarding the hygiene with regard to Covid-19. We saw a couple of lots of people come and sit down at a table for 5mins then move off to another table but there was no cleaning done where they had previously been sitting. Also a young guy kn a wheelchair went to the drink fridge and handled drink bottles before choosing one for himself. He did this twice. There were different staff waiting on the same tables. However the food was very yum.
Could benefit from a wider range of dishes to select from. Staff very friendly. Clean and tidy. Prices a little high, but not unreasonable.
Amazing food and full of flavour. Not your typical boring cafe flavour. Love it they have fresh pressed juice too. Love the burger and pork salad and again fresh juice that btw you can mix match to your liking. My favourite is carrot orange apple and pineapple. Good proper coffee too which is rare find in NZ. Yummm
Amazing food, drinks, and excellent staff! Very patient and polite too, one of my favourite places to eat in a long time.
