Karapiro Cafe & Gifts reviews
59 Probably ok for tourists, but cakes were dry, custard square was rubbery. Latte was watery, and chai smelled like dishwash liquid. Along with the obnoxious bird squawking so loudly you can't here yourself think.
We won't be back.
Very Disappointing: (Worst coffee and fish&chips I ever had dry and blend
Customer service is good tho
Won't recommended
Friendly service, happy to assist with dietary needs, clean, spacious comfortable surrounds, eat in or out, yummy food
Needs a shakeup.service is slow, food is on the expensive side & the facilities are run down. Bathrooms in particular are very average with poor fittings & lack of care. Outdoor tables & chairs need a good clean.
I absolutely love taking the time to stop into Karapiro Cafe on my way through to the Waikato, especially when being served each time with a welcoming smile, no matter how long or short my last visit was (if you haven't already figured me out, my one biggest pet peeve is poor customer service, and I'm definitely not afraid to post about it!).
There is something for everyone, a variety of choices for food and drink, including gifts made by locals, to browse the store while you wait, oh and purchase (thank you soooo much for my #'s, and the offer to gift wrap them) plenty of seating options inside and outside, my mango smoothie was soooo yummy and cold, perfect for a muggy day, with a sml chicken pastry? , and a sml mince? Was packed with so much flavour, I'll have to go back and try the venison one.so people get off the busy roads before hitting the waikato express way.it's worth it.
Absolutely great place! Made a stop over on the way through & staff was incredibly helpful. Very convenient & was able to get the perfect birthday present for my uncle. Gift was beautifully packed & wrapped. This cafe is lovely & i definitely reccomend it. Thanks again for your help
Excellent service.the Thickshake was more a Milkshake which I raised with the staff.this was handled and corrected very efficiently.very impressed with the service.
Outstanding old fashioned little cheesecakes with jam, gorgeous little homemade savoury pastries like mince, venison and chicken. Large outdoor deck so you can take yoir dog on a leash. Go here worth the stop.
Very poor today, wasn't busy. We waited for over half hour for breakfast, an found out that the owner didn't write our order down.be giving this a place a miss.
Definitely a hidden Gem. So glad we were feeling hungry at the right time on the expressway to stop here! We had a bite to eat and some drinks. The staff were lovely and had nice outdoor seating area with horses and chickens in the paddocks. Very peaceful.:)
We are always greeted with a welcoming smile and a warm hello to bring a smile to our day.
The coffee there is always great and so is the food. Everyrhing is reasonably priced.
A lovely little cafè with plenty of room out the back to look around. The coffee was good, the French toast, banana, bacon and maple syrup was amazing, there was heaps of bacon. Certainly a good price for what you get. The corn fritters and eggs bene went down well with the others too. Very friendly, happy serving staff too.
This place is like a hidden gem. It's hard to miss on the SH1 but looks quite nondescript from the road. Amazing food and great sized portions, beautiful art and gift shop, and wonderful staff.
Great little place! Lovely staff! Excellent pies! - like for real excellent, not just saying that.
Paid 7$ for hot chips. When you you show a big box of chips (only size available), we as customer expect it to be full.
It is was less than half. You guys are on busy highway, so once we drive off it is extremely difficult to come back and sort out the difference especially when you have toddler in the car.
Ripped off - yes.
Such a peaceful and scenic cafe. Such friendly staff and amazing coffee and food. Always a place we love to pop into on our way to Hamilton
Highly disappointed, waited forever for service, then had to wait for someone else because first person couldn't do ice cream, women then touched cone no gloves or tissues, she then scratched her head and then touched cones again, there was also a hair in another cone, disgusting!
The food was average or even below as one of the four meals we ordered were undercooked. The gift shop was pretty cool, lots of different nick nacks you wouldn't probably wouldn't find in most places!
Lovely ladies here in this idyllic spot. Very nice place to stop for a coffee and a bite to eat. Great outdoor area to sit in the sun or under the shade of table umbrellas and trees. You can even go for a walk around and meet the local cockerels.
Always a great place to stop. Coffee is some of the best and food is very tasty. The Big burger is really filling and I am usually not able to finish it.
