81I have been here a few times now and I am delighted with the food, the service and the price. Some of the staff don’t speak English but are so polite; and other customers always step in to help. The food is great; fresh, appealing and appears quite authentic. Excellent little place.
Horrendous experience with the food when I found it’s green fungus inside sweet which I ate and since then aches left and right side of my stomach. I would not visit this place anymore due to negligence of health and safety and one of their employee walking into the kitchen after cleaning his nose with bare hands imagine he touches food in the kitchen.
This is where you come for an experience in Indian cuisine.
Growing up on meat I discounted vegetarian curries but after 1 visit here it is now my favourite Indian takeaway!

It is Very cheap for a large variety of food e.g. Amritsari banquet is $18 for 3 curries, massive naan bread, rice, a big samosa (which you must have with the 2 sauces)
Then a lassi which is like a sweet mango smoothy to finish.
Love the shahi paneer with garlic naan!
Samosa and naan does take time to prepare but that's the price to pay for hot fresh deslish food.
One of my best place as a vegetarian to visit is Mithaiwala. All items are always very tasty. Very affordable as well.
Spent years looking for some authentic Indian food in NZ but found this place a few years back and have yet to find anything better. Amazing vegetarian Indian meals and snacks and nowhere comes close to value for money. Really highly recommended

One of New Zealand's worst restaurants. Negative points for cleanliness. The chef has no idea how to cook the cuisine. We ordered sevpuri and received something that was nowhere near sevpuri. This food caused stomach trouble the next day.
Please avoid eating here if at all possible. They serve out-of-date meals.

Poor foood. Poor dine in. We ordered 4 items. Everytime i went downstairs to grab ordered dish. I stand downstairs and my husbnd with my family was upstairs… so called family snacks… couldn’t enjoy together

The only thing worse than the sweets at this place - was the customer service - truly shocking - not up to the kiwi standard - people pushing in line and workers turning a blind eye - ignoring customers - maybe ok behaviour in India - not in NZ!
Went to store on 09/09/2022 afternoon. Staff packing the order with bare hands! She rubbed her neck and adjusted mask in between! And simply packing by picking up laddu and Samosa with her hands.
When it turns to my order, I asked to use a tong and she weared a glouse! There might be CCTV cameras and the management is silent or just cared about pushing the sales!
It was an amazing experience at Mithaiwala. They are serving an authentic indian flavors with heavenly taste. The ambiance was nice and decent
In design, presentation was really good and the food tastes delicious.
I would definitely take my friends there. Staff was polite and special thanks to their Manager Mr. Vishal for making my visit indelible. I would highly recommend this place if you wanna try real Indian flavors. ️
