Cozy farm style café, a good idea for a meal before the cave adventure and sip a hot cuppa after your adventure, so impressed

Only visited the cafe, not the cave. Lovely lemon loaf and beautiful view from a large window in the side.

I visit Nikau Cave & Cafe because of its location. It's a very good place to ride a motorcycle to. Once there the service is very good the coffee is good and the food is what you would expect at a Cafe. There are times that it takes a while to be served because of staff numbers to customer numbers I am not bothered by that at all. Why go to the Nikau Cafe if you are in a hurry?

Given that this cafe is in the middle of nowhere, the food was on point with where it was and gave out a cozy yet homely vibe.its definitely a cafe to stop by if you find yourself on a tiki tour using the “back way” to pukekohe or auckland.

Love it. This is an absolute gem and best kept hidden. The place is a wonderland, a lovely Cafe, walks around the area and the caving experience is a must do. Have been here thrice, Phil and his team are amazing.

Out of the way Cafe but we'll worth the trip. Food is great although they are a bit slow at getting it out to you. No cellphone coverage but the silence is golden. Good ride for motorbikes too. A great stop.

Kiwi hospitality at its best. Nikau was recommended to me as a quiet place to stay and relax. And I'm so grateful for that. I took the cave tour, (great fun), ate at the cafe (thanks for the tasty veggie options), then stayed at the cabin (perfect nights looking up at star-filled skies)
Thank you again for the peaceful, rejuvenating, glow-worm filled holiday.

This place is an absolute dream. Awesome food to go along with the Awesome owner's. Not only do these people welcome you with open arms, but they are both a very working husband and wife team who have not only opened their little piece of paradise to their thriving community but the out of town public so they too can enjoy a relaxing day away from the stress of the Big Smoke Auckland City.iPersonally I recommend their very own Venison Pizza of course xtra Large so you can take some home if it lasts. Cooked to perfection, with the exact amount of Veniso & toppings but you can tell home made when you sink your teeth into that 1st bite, it's an absolute pleasure. And the Smoked Chicken & Cranberry Pizza again xtra Larg, again cooked to absolute perfection. And if your puku still has room, go & grab a couple of packets of their (delicious no sharing) Raspberry Fudge. Believe me when I say this, but you can't just have 1 or 2 pieces. It's that good it melts in you mouth as soon as your lips touches it.
Coming out to the Nika Cafe not only do you enjoy a beautiful scenic drive with amazing views but you also get to enjoy excellent company upon your arrival at this idealic destination with it's amazing bush walks, beautiful hand made furniture and the best thing is NO TV, and to be honest you so don't miss it.

Nikau Cave is a beautiful spot. The stalagmite/stalactite formations are some of the most interesting and varied I've ever seen, and our guide Philip was funny, knowledgeable, and clearly very passionate about his work. The surrounding bush and farmland is beautiful, and the Cafe serves delicious homemade food, and catered easily to my dietary requirements. Highly recommend!

Wonderful charm & friendly service. Oozes with Tranquility & peacefulness.
The Bacon Buttie is somewhat disappointing for $10, Extra bread & more garnishing (besides a cherry tomato) would be ideal.

Such a great spot. Well worth the drive out there for both the cafe and the cave. Do bring a change of clothes and shoes for the cave as you do get a little wet. Especially your feet!
There is also a very nice loop walk just a couple of minutes drive from the cafe. You'll be treated to a view of a stunning waterfall that you can walk under.

Such a cool hidden treasure. Beautiful grounds, lovely homely meals, amazing caving experience that hasn't gone all mainstream touristy. Like the best kept local secret around.

Talk about fantastic customer service. Kate delivered us coffee from the cafe to our broken down vehicle about 3km away.
Awesome coffee, and will definitely pop in the next time we visit this beautiful part of the country.

If you're looking for an adventure, rather just "sight seeing" then you've come to the right place. These are some of the best caves I've ever seen, and up so close too, and theres a great feeling of discovery rather than just trudging through in a line of tourists. Not for the faint hearted, but if your enjoy a challenge, you won't be disappointed! Philip makes the tour fun, informative and very memorable. We had a lovely lunch and coffee after we changed out of our soggy clothes (so definitely take the advice of bringing a complete change of clothes). Everyone's really friendly. We'll be back!

My first time in Nikau cave experience was in winter 1999. This place was not heavily advertised yet. And today its WOW! For the second time around the cave continued to amazed me. Stalactites and stalagmites were still intact, well preserved. The best was the close encounter with glow worms.

Lovely food, great apple juice, nice server and receptionist (?) It was warm and the view was beautiful. Just had 1 worker who didn't seem so happy so we only stayed a couple minutes
