We took 10 people for lunch and everyone enjoyed the food, very tasty. Also the staff took great care of everyone. Highly recommend

A great menu and all that we have had so far has been delicious. The roast duck is divine. It is deservedly very popular, so even on a cold, Thursday it was packed. The service is very friendly and attentive, 3 different waiters asking if we need more drinks is maybe a bit much. Still better than the reverse. Great cocktail list, desert menu and easy parking. Looking forward to going back.

Had a really nice lunch at Onyx Cambridge. Started with bread and dips. The bread was delicious with a crunchy crust. Followed by pork belly which was cooked to perfection. Finished with a cheeseboard and a shot of Drambuie. This a high quality restaurant which is popular with the locals and travellers.

We attended a private function in the upstairs room. The staff were friendly and helpful the food was lovely and they had a good range of dairy free, gluten free and vegan options to cover the range of people who were attending. I would happily go there again.

Food is very good. The food sizes are very good, not too big and not too small it’s perfect. The restaurant is warm and has lovely interior. The meals are worth the price. Prices are good. Overall 10/10 definitely going back.

We were looking for somewhere for dinner and most places were shut. We saw this busy little restaurant and were lucky enough to get a table by the bar. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 meals and spent about 100 NZ dollars. I had a steak pizza which was fully loaded and my wife had the lamb shank. The food was excellent, tasty and nice and hot. Despite being told there would be a bit of a wait due to it being so busy, the food arrived within 15 minutes. I am sure this place is always busy as the food was really good for the money.

Food is okay, but the staff was not very friendly. Almost seemed annoyed when asked whether we could take another look at the menu.

We had a late lunch of Thai green curry. Food was delicious, staff friendly we would return

Excellent service, the chicken halloumi salad however, was so small we all thought it was a starter! Pricey for what it was. I would also take this opportunity to say to the owner, I notice you only respond to positive reviews, this lets you down as a business owner, not only does responding to negative reviews improve your reputation to consumers, but it also shows negative reviewers that you're willing to resolve their issues and earn back their business.

Our family of 6 had a fantastic experience of Onyx today. The staff was great - friendly and quick. The food - platter for 2, pizza, kids steak and fries - was very good. The ambience of the building is nice, too. We'll certainly be back when we come through Cambridge again. P. S.: And a (likely regular?) Onyx guest, a senior citizen, made the day very special for our two youngest, when he passed our table and gifted them teddy bears.

Unfortunately torrential rain came on and we were sitting in patio area - couldn't converse as the rain was so loud on the perspex roofing. Great service & food

Impressive range of dishes. Our group tried several options and everything was good. We didn't try the fish and chips since the delivery was late, but just goes to show that they take their prep seriously if they couldn't do a proper job cleaning the fish.

Beautiful garlic pizza, avo chicken, and bacon stack followed by apple crumble! All absolutely gorgeous!

We had an amazing dinner! Lamb was cooked to perfection, mash was whipped and fluffy! Will definitely return.

Grateful thanks to Team Onyx for our delicious meals, great service & fantastic atmosphere last night as we celebrated our son’s 50th birthday. We were a large party of 18 & the staff went above & beyond to make sure our meals & special requests were catered for. We appreciated your kindness & cheerful hospitality.
We wish you well for a restful holiday break & look forward to returning in the New Year.

We got the steak pizza which was good, and the chicken halloumi salad which was ok and in the small side. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was good. They forgot our side of fries. Not a bad stop on your way to Hobbiton.

Really food and service, the locals know this so you may have to book a table in advance if you want to go there.
