Great winery with an amazing view! You can find so many great alcohols here (not just wine). He has ciders, limoncello, palinka, as well as a variety of liquors (fejoia, ginger, plum, boysenberry, banana, passion fruit, etc.). All of which is grown and prepared on site. Despite us arriving after closing, the owner decided reopen and give us a tasting of all of their drinks. He had a great, welcoming attitude with good overview on the history of kiwi/Chinese gooseberry and the island. He even shared some of his green tea and hot peppers as a good bye. Looking forward to returning here.

Really amazing experience, just as the owner is closed up we got there and he turned everything back on for us. He was super knowledgeable about the history, set us up trying so many different flavorful liquors and overall made the entire experience memorable. The owners personality, amazing views paired with amazing liquors made the biggest impression on me from my entire Australia/New Zealand trip! If you’re looking for a winery this is a must when in New Zealand!

Superb place, where Danny lets you taste his delicious products, but also take the time to discuss many fascinating subjects.
Among the best spots I've done on the North Island!
If you buy one of the local bottles (did I mention that the products are delicious) Danny will offer to park your van for the night with toilets, hot showers and a tour of the vegetable garden!

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! Danny is not only a world class human but liqueur expert. Tried so many unique, homemade liqueurs that included either a history lesson or punchy one liner. Brought home so many amazing goodies to share with loved one! HIGHLY recommended to anyone traveling the area:)

Purangi is located in a great spot with views down to the water. Located on an organic farm, they only use what they grow in their liqueurs. Danny is a great host with funny stories who will keep you entertained.

We spent the night at Danny’s place in our campervan and it was amazing. Danny is lovely and offer us a liquor tasting of his products which was delicious and the view from the camper site is really pretty.
Bonus if you spend the night there instead of paying for the place you can stay for free if you buy 20$ pp in his shop.

My husband and I had a blast! I highly recommend, especially if you want to try something different. Dan took us through the tastings which involved hilarious bits of history of NZ and the meaning behind words associated with his products which extend to Europe and the middle east. We could not resist the feijoa liquer, palinka and the araraq. Also, the views from the winery at the top of the hill are breathtaking.

The host was awesome! Like a comedian he told stories about the wine, cultural differences, puns - just great!

This place is a hidden gem. Danny is the loveliest host you can imagine. He has some interesting and funny stories to tell.
Currently they are serving liqueurs only due to latest weather conditions, but they are absolutely worth trying. All their products are handmade, unique and truly regional. If you are in the area, don't miss Purangi Winery!

One of the highlights of our stay on the Coromandel. Well worth a stop. We bought a few bottles after a delicious tasting where Danny taught us heaps about the local area (and other interesting facts!). West Islanders can expect some good natured banter. We'll be recommending everyone to stop here.
