Sweet Painted Lady Cafe reviews
47Coffee was great, service on point. Doughnuts were way to expensive, they looked great but were bland.
A small and warm local pie and bakery cafe, a well balanced mince n cheese pie. Coffee is good as usual.
Wonderful experience- nice coffee and great toasties (custom made).
Very polite staff
Brought 1 sandwhich $4.80 and 2 pies $17.80. It was 2.10pm and as they were tidying to close even so the pie was not that hot and way overpriced. Cake slice $4.80 half the size of a normal cafe cake slice. Young lady who was on the till said but they are homemade. Food taste and staff was ok but we won't be back. Pensioners can't afford those prices
A cool place to stopover for a quick meal with award winning meat pies. Fun and helpful service. Would recommend and visit again in the region
The best break I've had all morning was at this place I stopped at briefly. I needed some carbs to continue my bicycle ride across the country. I'm so grateful to have come into this tiny town of Waharoa, wowzaaa! Yes! Arahia w her all day menu and great served up black coffee with Soffee and handmade pies hit the spot, everything was so fresh and clean, i had some carrot cake, think i might be able to save it for a snake later? Just could not wait, ate it all there! I did about 200 kilometres that entire day, thanks to the sweet painted lady cafeith this was certainly the best break I had all morning
Always open and always great service. Stop here whenever I'm heading to auckland from tauranga. Best toasted sandwiches anywhere.
Great lunch stop on the drive from Auckland to Rotorua. Pepper steak pie was tasty. Only one staff member on at lunch time so there was a little wait. Convenient street parking out the front.
The pies are a must try. Full of meat and veges. Plus the coffee is creamy and hot hot hot. Well done cooks.we enjoyed our break from driving
Lovely people run this and have good food and great coffe after a morning of being a trader at Matamata Market before traveling back to Pukekohe again.
Great food, love that it is all homemade onsite, no large commerical cakes/slices etc.
Such friendly staff and great coffee too
On a wet day and needing a hot coffee, well we found one. Great wait staff. A very good cheese and onion toasted sandwich. And Date scone. Well done team. Sorry no photos. My phone was on our car.
We will be back.
Have to stop here when we pass.make the best pies! Friendly staff and the coffee is always hot and full bodied! Totally recommend it.
Roughly 2 hours out of Auckland on State Highway 27, many traveller's will have seen this place. A great stop for good coffee, take out items like sandwiches and savouries etc or cooked meals from the menu. Stand out here is almost everything is made on the premises including the cakes, all baked from scratch with no premixes used and taste like home made! Pies are the same, made on premises and the best! One won an award at the pie competition. Easy parking and good truck parking nearby so popular with truckers. Clean bathroom and great staff. Pop in next door for a Gelato, by the same owners
Really good pies, baking, and fresh coffee. Nice and clean premises with toilets and indoor/outdoor seating. Friendly staff with great service.
Drove past the Sweet Painted Lady Cafe the other day and decided to stop in today for Valentine's Day. It was unfortunate to have such dull customer service to the point of wondering if the person liked their job. The food was overpriced and sadly didn't deliver. The food was tasty enough to eat but the overall experience left me not wanting to come back.
Everyone left happy! Meat pies got a big tick, yummy home baking and an old school long doughnut that didn't last long.
I saw a sign outside this shop "Best pies and pastries" and I literally made my boyfriend pull a U-turn as I was hangry and it was sitting cute next to a gelato shop that also looked promising. We shared a steak and cheese pie and I wish I had gotten my own because the flakey, sxc pastry melted in my mouth, the steak and gravy was so ON and the cheese made me quiver with joy, it was on the more expensive side but worth the $. We ran into the owners Mom outside who would definitely do well in NZ's biggest sweetheart contest. We hit the gelato shop next door to finish off our cravings, same owner and same awesome quality. Will be stopping here every time from now on and if pie isn't your thing, it's worth just stopping for a good yarn with Mom.
Delicious pies, a little bit pricy but kept us full from 10: 30 until after 5 so worth it. We'll be back.
