Tairua Campground - Paradise Coast

This is a tricky one.
I booked 2 nights at the camp after seeing pics. We arrived, no one at reception just a note saying pick a space.
The grounds are tidy and it is close to the shops and across from the estuary and offered a simple kitchen, toilet block and patch of grass.
We didn't stay the two nights. There was no camp vibe at all. No trampoline or games room for kids to play on. There was only 1 campervan parked up. No camp "community" vibe at all. No trampoline or ground for kids to play in. No games room.
I was disappointed that they don't refund, they take your full payment ASAP when booking.
To be honest, I wouldn't even book here again if I didnt have kids with me. Possibly the place works in summer if everywhere else is booked.

We had a nice stay, one slight issue but don't even feel like mentioning it as the manager sorted it all out for us:) will definitely be back.

Awesome place to stay. So clean and close to shops, beach, supermarkets, estuary for doggy walking. Just amazing!

We are here with a mini camper and were allowed to choose a place of our choice. A great location, kitchen, toilet and shower, super organized, definitely recommended to stay here.

I travelled two months on the North Island, but this is the best campground where I stayed. Charlie his hospitality is great!

An amazing campground with amazing hosts. And a very friendly cat to boot. They had free wifi and a great lounge room with comfy sofas, a TV that advertised Netflix, pool table, and foosball. We talked to Charlie several times and he was so gracious to us and a great fun to talk to. Bathrooms, showers, and kitchen were clean and tidy, and they had laundry as well. I would 100% recommend this site to anyone.

Lovely campground situated in the cozy little town of Tairua. Facilities are well-maintained and clean. Only a 1-minute walk to the local Four Square with plenty of food options adjacent, and many beach and hiking options nearby.

Our host Charlie was awesome and went above and beyond to ensure a fun and smooth experience. We would love to come back one day. Thank you from Lily and Fraser and merry Christmas!

P. S. We highly recommend the delicious poke bowls created by Stephan the local chef.

We had a lovely overnight stay. Site is well-maintained and cared for. Bathrooms and kitchen were both clean!

Fine camground in the, city’’! Grocery stores, restaurants and beaches are very close.
Hot shower for 7minutes fot $2. Owner is very nice guy! Would stay here again:)

Lovely campground with a welcoming host, great facilities, and an entertainment area. The location was also really good as Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove are easy to reach)

Fabulous stay for all, the hosts Heather and Charlie make you feel so welcome. The most hospitable hosts you could ask for. We are truly grateful for the most amazing week in this beautiful place and would highly recommend. Will definitely be back next year Xxx

Having stayed here in December 2022, it was fantastic. I came here to New Zealand from the United States to spearfish and surf. The owner was extremely accommodating and pleasant. Our room was impeccable and the bathrooms were spotless. Bed was super comfy! Cannot recommend it enough. I will be returning to slay some kingfish! Thanks!

Myself and a friend stayed at Charlie’s campground over a very wet and drizzly week in the Coromandel. It was such a lovely experience, I’ve never felt so welcomed and cared for! Charlie’s wife even baked us some brownies to keep the morale up!

Great for families with a nice gaming room. Shallow beach and wonderful playground just across the street.

Tairua itself is so wonderful easy and the beaches and the bay is scenic. Great spot to stay for longer!
