Very lovingly furnished and comfortable accommodation, you have a house for yourself (for 2 people or families). Great atmosphere and great service. Within walking distance there is a very good breakfast café and also a small brewery with good food. You can borrow a shovel for free for the hot water beach… definitely try it out!

We were a last minute booking to The Church after problems with our previous accommodation, and couldn’t be more amazed by the service and genuine helpfulness of Andreas as The Church. Room is immaculate and perfect for two weary international travellers, feeling secluded and spacious. If you are looking for somewhere close to attractions in the area with amazing service, book this place.

Recently stayed for 2 nights. This is a beautiful roomy accommodation with all of the amenities you would need. They have lots of interesting plants on the property, which attracts all sorts of birds if you like birdwatching.

The only nitpick I would have is I was staying during the season when the ants have wings and I would find them here and there. That was mostly a non-issue, but on the morning I checked out I noticed a tiny infestation. There was a small army of ants walking around on the counter, as well as right outside the door. I think there may be an anthill nearby outside and they’re somehow coming in through small holes in the walls. (They’re definitely not arriving via the window.)

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Lovely setting with rooms leading on to beautiful gardening. Rooms are spotless and very comfy. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. About a 5min walk to the pub and less than 10 min from the beach. Could not have found a better place to stay for my trip.

We stayed in the House for 2 nights on a lovely summer weekend in early fall. The property is beautiful and the house was comfortable and idyllic and with a lovely and private garden. However, one of the bedrooms and the 2nd bathroom are both located outside of the main house and so you had to go outside to access them, which made them useless for a family with small kids such as our. The beds were also quite lumpy and had big dips from long use.time to replace those!

There are a lot of bugs and no screens so the lack of AC became problematic at night because we had to choose between cooling down the house and being eaten alive by mosquitos or being too hot.

Also, be aware that even though this unit has 3 bedrooms, you have to pay extra if there are more than two people. Thus, the price per night, which is already nose-bleedingly high, gets even higher when you factor in the fine-print. We raised this issue with the owner and they became somewhat belligerent and justified this practice by saying that other hotels did the same.so there, I guess. Anyway, we enjoyed our time in town but likely wouldn't go back unless there weren't other options in town.

10/10 from email contact, to late check in’s, everything was a breeze at The Church, we visited for a wedding in Hot water beach.

We had a self contained cottage and I could have just moved in. We enjoyed the beach and complimentary beach towels.

Would love to return someday soon!

Perfect. We stayed in a self-catered cottage with our daughter for 2 nights. Great location, and the cottage was great for us. The staff was very helpful for us as first-time visitors to Hahei. We will be back.

If you are going to stay anywhere on the Coromandel Peninsula let it be The Chuch Accommodations Hahei. The collection of beautifully kept and decorated cottages are charming and private. The place is owned and run by Anna and Andreas, who have turned the accommodations into a true heaven on earth - including well tended ornamental gardens. It helps that the cottages are next to the "Church Bistro"
one of the best restaurants we've encountered in New Zealand. If you are lucky enough (as we were) to enjoy an amazing meal followed by a sleep beneath the rain on the cottage tin roof, you will truly understand.

I am in a wheelchair & they had a room available for us (sister & i) Cute cottage has been one of the better accessible rooms I've stayed in, would have got a 5 starts but shower didn't have a bench no biggie, but chair was made available for my use. The shower has better water pressure than the Auckland Hilton.
Clean tidy & loved that they had a wood heater which made the stay even toastier.
$210 for a night is fine will definitely stay again.

No couches to sit on after v long days (just a hard seat by a window which possibly doubled as a single), Q mattress was a bit too hard. More bath towels would have been helpful. Had a great stay

I came here back in 2009 for the serine peace and tranquility, I bought my fiancee over for a weekend mid 2021, totally still heaven has never moved, and now coming back for our honeymoon it just gets better, spine tingling goose bumps, there will always be a next time, some air con would be nice though.

Perfect location. Stayed in the 3 bedroom house. Was just like a home. Had everything we needed to cook. Clean. Great staff.

Great location and very pretty grounds, even a private garden off our deck. Our cottage had indoor table seating as well as outdoor table seating but no couch, there were day beds instead. May be a tad crowded for 4 when the sun goes down but was still well appointed and very clean and tidy. Host Anna was great to deal with and very helpful.
