1841 Bar and Restaurant

Made a booking for 8pm over the phone no issues arrive at the restaurant and we're declined entry because one of the 4 of us was 17 and can't be in there without a legal guardian even though we just wanted dinner not drinking and there was also little kids under 8 running around inside. Now we have to struggle to find a restaurant at this time. Just a heads up if anyone is thinking of coming here and aren't 18 not impressed ruined our night. Thanks guys. RESPONSE: I also understand that you guys have to follow the law no problem with that as I also have worked behind a bar but the issue we had is that you didn't take 3 seconds to tell us that you enforce those rules in the restaurant as well as the bar I don't care that it's the governmens rules, you enforce them so you should inform your guests about them don't try and blame the government because you are to lazy to tell your guests, it's poor customer service and the fact you still can't accept the blame as it's a clear miss on your behalf shows you need some more customer service training.

Worst experience ever! 5 of us went for lunch here at 12: 30pm and was not even acknowledged.there is an extremely rude girl with red hair working behind the bar with the most sour face. We asked the young waiter guy who took our food order who she was and he told us she is the Duty manager…
Well every-time one of us went up to the bar to get a drink she (the girl with the red hair) would rather talk to the staff members who are on their breaks at the end of the bar then serve her patrons.
As for the food OMG the Lamb shank pie is more like a stew and tastes like it was microwaved from frozen the the battered fish and chips taste B- fish was not fresh my friend couldn’t eat it. Will not be coming back here again.

I go regularly, it's usually good although I've noticed the roast has got smaller on Sunday! Also on Monday nights they have a 2 for 1. I often go along but because I'm just one I can only order one meal. I don't mind because one meal is usually enough. If there is a second person the meal if free. My sister is staying w me tonight. I'm looking after her, she's unwell. I went to take advantage of 2 for 1 (for the first time I'd be getting the second meal free so I thought). However, I found that isn't possible because we wanted it to take away. I don't understand this because 1841 do have takeaway meals. I've purchased them. I think it's mean for a restaurant to advertise commonplace deals like 2/1 and then attach conditions to 2/1 face to face at the restaurant. Perhaps 1841 should be clear about it's rules on its specials signs or on the menus? It was a bit embarrassing.

The food is almost inedible, but the live music is great. Stick to the fries and you'll be fine. There's a reason why they don't ask you how you enjoyed your meal when you go to pay, and why they don't check up on your table mid-meal - they know that their food is garbage.

Was the 11 year old in our group of 10 (who were there for brunch in the middle of the week) ID'd at the door because we are Pacific Islanders? Took our $400 and spent it elsewhere. Need to upskill your management on customer service asap.

Didn't rate meal tonight, rice had been cooked in microwave sticking together and dry; lamb shank pie gravy very sweet more like a sauce and pastry rubbery not a good experience but do go there on occasions and other meals have been very gooď

Horrible experience. It was well over an hour wait time when we were told it'd be 20minutes, no apology. Food came old cold and unappealing. Small but expensive portion. This was our first and last time here

Had the Cesar salad was excellent and generous. Really good find. Recommend!

Came again on Monday special waited over an hour. People who came much later got their food almost imidiatly. My pork was salty so we're the veges. Some of the veges were under cooked. Do not recommend to come for dinner.

Well where do i start im a regular at 1841 absolutely love this place but tonight different story. We ordered the platter and came out with majority fries and had random burnt bits on the fish. When we got our mains which was a beef roast it was dry as heck the veges were uncooked carrots were actually raw and the Broccoli was brunt and had a weird aftertaste from the gravy. Just disappointed with the food tonight relly dropped the ball.

Great service but the food was a letdown. Filo pastry when reheated should be crispy light and moreish.was bitterly disappointed with the Sogy not even heated to 85 degrees wanna b filo that I was served. I know it's lunch guys but wen ya lose ya MOJO in the kitchen.it comes out looking like my Wana b filo

Disappointing service. Staff appeared to be busy. I placed order for 2 people at the counter after waiting for 35mins at our table which was located where customers were paying their bill. Wait time in between orders (except for drinks) was 15-20min.

The food was underwhelming. The Cajun calamari had no Cajun seasoning at all. The service was friendly but not helpful. Sad to say, I won't be coming back soon.

The Thai Beef salad has changed in the last three months, the beef is over cooked and tough and way too salty.

Used to be quite good and a bit of a destination for a good feed, but last couple of times prices seem to have jumped, meal sizes reduced, and meals themselves been underwhelming.

Busy bustlin resto in Johnsonville. Easy to get to and lots of parking. Service is ok.staff are friendly but the resto is busy and they tend to forget stuff you ask for or forgets to check up on you. Food is above average. Nice place to take the fam for a dinner out.

Been here a few times and the food has been okay. However recently we had a brekky with hash browns cooked so long they turned into potato chips. What I dont get is why the server thought we would be okay eating them? Anyway 3 stars and probably will be getting our brunches elsewhere moving forward.

Kids menu and activity pack was great for my 4 year old granddaughter. Walk in and git a table for 5 with no wait. Place was busy food was good

Arrived during slow time and then hovered over by staff as it got busier - frustrated by the mixed service received. Obviously eat and leave is required here.

A busy night and we were a big group, even though they had a staff shortage our meals arrived on time and the staff were really pleasant.

Great atmosphere to gather with friends or family
Service was good but 2 peoples meals were slower than everyone else's
Other than that great place and staff were very helpful
