Arashi Kushiyaki Bar reviews
62Delicious food and good sushi. Service friendly and accommodating to special requests. One of my go-tos in Wellington!
BYO with $7 corkage. Good sake. The food was great and the service was slick. Overall a little on the high price side but it is what it is. Good to have experienced something different in Courtney Place.
Went there for lunch. Food was delicious for a good price (17$ /p) and staff very lovely. Don't understand the bad reviews because we had a great experience there!
Okay, Arashi Kushiyaki is honestly one of the best resurants I have been to ever. Great food, lovely people and did I mention great food? Very reasonable prices and a great menu with lots of options for adults and kids. Will visit again in the near future.
My favourite restaurant by far! I come here often. The food is so good and well worth the price. Best teriyaki chicken I have ever had. The staff are so friendly and always ensure the customers are happy! Highly recommend.
Good Japanese food a favourite place for a light refreshing and enjoyable meal. Green tea ice cream Yum
The chairs don't have any back rest which adds to the atmosphere of it being an authentic restaurant. But it's uncomfortable. The food is delicious and the staff were nice and brought our food quickly. I recommend the karage meal set, it's a delicious crispy chicken with rice with a side of miso soup and salad
I highly recommend going to this restaurant the service is great, food is delicious and everything is at a reasonable price. It is a very busy restaurant but they somehow get the food out pretty fast and the plating is quite pretty. They also have lovely wines and desserts one of my favourite dish was the Kushiyaki skewers. Recommend going for a girls night out or even with kids for great sushi.
One of the worst Japanese dining experiences I've ever had. We ordered 2 bento sets. The food came out suspiciously fast and wasn't hot. The miso soup tasted like it was from a cheap supermarket packet and had no flavour. The teriyaki beef was supposed to be sirloin steak cooked to your liking, but I honestly don't think I was served actual sirloin. It was more like flavourless almost raw strips of meat. The salad tasted days old and the only thing we could really stomach was the rice. Sadly won't be going back.
Good food nice and quick service. Amazing plum wine. Would benefit from some ambient music.
Ordered the katsudon and was not disappointed! Despite a full house my food came out relatively fast, and very tasty.
Great food and a very good experience. Would recommend everyone check it out. The Katsu set in particular was very good.
The food is absolutely amazing, best service and the atmosphere was incredible.we will definitely be going back.
Best fried chicken ever, honestly i’m in love.if your looking for good servers ask for chantal she’s amazing!
The most upsetting Japanese dinner in life: (
Poor service & disrespectful - we didn’t feel welcome at all thought out the whole night. Two of us sat nearby the entrance with another table of 6, waitress only asked the big group if they are okay for them to open the door for airflow but not us. As if we were not exist. Upon payment, we asked where the surcharge from, the attitude of the cashier was irritating. The way she expressed that there is surcharge for paywave is like, ‘are you stupid? ! ’ There was no signs in front of the pin pad. That was not fair for customer. Not the matter of how much extra we have to pay, but gesture of courtesy. Or even honesty.
Not authentic - Nigiri rice was too wet to stick together. Broke into pieces when lifting it up. Rice is also tasteless. Katsu curry was so thin but still dry as inside. The crumb basically not sticking to the pork. It is so soggy. The rice for the sets were dry. Not freshly cooked, been left in the rice cooker for too long.
Not fresh - Had both nigiri set and sashimi. Not fresh. Period.
I ordered a meal set that was served with luke warm & soggy rice and ingredients. The sauce was diluted with water. It’s not authentic Japanese food. The waitress was busy with checking her phone, and hence I couldn’t give any feedback. I have almost wanted not to pay.
I feel frustrated for restaurants that doesn’t respect Japanese food/culture. It’s one of the worst experience in a Japanese restaurant!
Had dinner with friends it had a great atmosphere and friendly staff, the food was good and had the right vibe for a little night out. Definitely recommend for a little outing
Three stars is being generous. Food and service were both not great. There are other restaurants in Wellington that provide both better for less.
So misleading the food tasted more chinese than japanese aswell ordered omu raisu which is supposed to be a fluffy egg omelette but it was just fried egg ontop of egg fried rice really disappointed paying $25 for this feel so ripped off
Accommodating us despite being busy and super fast meant we could get to our concert on time. Yummy food.
