Aroy Thai Eatery - Cuba Street reviews
58Looks great after the renovations. But prices have increased by a lot so it's not longer the cheap lunch option. Staff are friendly enough
Food arrived quickly but was disappointed at the quality. I ordered the fried chicken noodle soup and while the chicken was nice, the broth was bland and flavourless. Tasted like cabbage water. Staff were nice but got mucked around with
tea being out of stock and then being offered an alternative but bring asked to pay extra before we just asked for a refund. The waiter came around again and then they found out they had the tea?
Very poor and disappointing service. Ordered a non spicy dish, got a spicy dish by their mistake. They agreed they made a mistake but they did not replace the wrong dish with the right one because we tried one spoon of the dish. How could you find out without tasting?
Unacceptable behavior of the boss and no service orientation.
We ordered over the order terminal meals and you could select the spice level. We ordered one meal without any spice. But the kitchen made a mistake and send us the meal really spicy. The meal was not eatable. We informed the staff directly. They confirmed they made a mistake. But their boss refused to redo the meal because we tried already one spoon of the dish. But you have to taste it to realize that it is spicy.
That was not acceptable and money wasted for a dish that was not eatable.
Cannot recommend this restaurant.
Every time we go to wellington we Ted to end up here for a meal, quick service and tasty food, offer a full range from carnivore to vegan.
I had a delicious and warming won ton soup on a cold night. The kitchen is quick and the food unsurprising, but sometimes that's a good thing. This place is reasonably busy with diners coming and going. Clean and tidy. Free water, and help yourself to chilli flakes, chilli sauce, pepper. I would happily pop in again.
So good we went twice over the weekend. Great food, well priced and overall a lovely place to feast.
The Pad Thai here is yummy! Recommend it Also loved the tom yum noodles. Soup is really flavourfull. Had a nice thai iced milk tea to wash it all down
Was very impressed with everything. Staff always had a smile on while attending us. Food was amazing. Can't go wrong going here.
Nice food. Friendly staffs. There is a lot of plug stations for charging your mobile phone and laptop. Happy customer.
Disappointed, empty tables on a Friday night in the busiest street should have been a sign, the food was much better long back when this was a small place cheaply priced, now the chilli chicken is too salty, black pepper beef is too rubbery.
Yesterday I ordered food via UberEats, sadly, I can't rate the food since we didn't get our order.
I rang the restaurant as weren't happy (and very hungry) about what happened. The girl I talked to at Aroy Thai explained that delivery girl's name Esreal and she's responsible for the delivery.
The girl Aroy Thai said she will help me and she'll ring UberEats, and she did. UberEats guy I talked to was nice and told we will get a refund. He apologized too
I tried to ring the delivery girl Esreal 2x, "wrong number". The Ubereats guy I talked to told me that this delivery girl, Esreal didn't answer when he tried ring her.
The 4 stars are for the girl I talked to at the restaurant.
Skip the chicken with satay sauce. Tastes like a coconut curry. The rice dry and over cooked. We left it all on the plate.
อร่อยมั้ย Aroy Mai? (Is it delicious)
That is the question I ask when I step into Aroy Thai Eatery. After leaving Thailand for almost 4 years and as we have been living in that beautiful country for almost 19 years, we are all craving for some Thai cuisine.
We ordered the familiar dishes such as, Phad Thai, Phad See You, Fried pork with Bakchoi, Masaman Curry and deep fried crispy chicken skin. Plus, the famous Ice Tea with milk.
The service were average and the food is a little pricey. But we love the Fried pork with Bak Choi, Phad Thai, and Phad See You. The Thais are great with their stir Fried dishes. You can smell and taste the "wok hei" fragrance from the hot wok. There are a certain spice missing from the masaman curry and the Ice Tea with milk needs more milk. These may fool the kiwis or those not familiar with authentic Thai food but surely cannot fool me.hehehe.
I really hope that the management can read this review and make some improvements. We will still come back when we crave for some Phad Thai.
I like the Aroy franchise and have been to several around NZ. This one was the most inferior (based on the meal I always order - pork belly with basil).
Normally I would rate this meal as a 5 but here it was not good. The pork was very thin and worst of all looked like the meat was old. Upon further inspection looked like it was cut then fried or deep fried. Anyway, it was totally different than normal and tasted a little different. The sauce was still OK but the pork belly pieces were not!
I hope the owner of the franchise looks into this because all the other shops I've been to have been perfect, just this one is not good.
I'd highly recommend Aroy restaurant chains but not this one. It should be a standard taste but unfortunately this shop has let your chain down.
Very nice food at great prices. A good range of Thai dishes to suit everyone. Located by the tipping water buckets in Cuba street.
Great cheerful uncomplicated Thai food. It's not 5 star cuisine but it's always tasty and quick.
I've been a fan for a few years but haven't been there in ages. So we went for all our favourites in one go: pad thai, fried chicken, tom yum and roti. Absolutely great and I look forward to going again.
Pretty average. Noodles were flourless and stuck together in a chunk. Tiramisu was frozen when I received it so I couldn’t eat it.
Great value, and will certainly go back, nice service.
Not super tangy tastes but pretty good.
Absolutely delicious, went as a group and it catered well to everyone’s dietary requirements and my tofu green curry was outstanding! Thanks
