Aunty Mena's Vegetarian Restaurant & Cafe reviews
65Food is always fresh and yummy! The service is amazing, fast and pleasant! Happy to come back always!
Delicious food! Love the laksa noodle soup! Great prices and food quality. I highly recommend it if you are looking for vegan/veg options
Best vegan restaurant in all of wellington.go and try the roti chanai, curry slice.thank me later.
Only had the Laksa, strongly recommend, coconut soup, light spice, lots of tofu and a few different textures, udon like thick noodles, yum. Great on a raining day or whenever! Also tofu drum sticks are great.
A hole in the wall vegetarian /vegan restaurant with a simple but tasty fare. Menu consist SE Asian and Cantonese dishes. Imitation meat and chicken dishes available. Portions are reasonably sized yet cheap.
Have been in Malesya for 4 months and Asia other 6 months so if you want authentic food avoid this, however it is cheap so good for something quick. Have come here now few times and tried different dishes. Noodles and roti were overly SWEET, curry was just 80% onion and rest was veggies. In Asia food is a bit sweet but not like they fusion it here. Service is good and fast nothing to complain about that. It is a shame that they put so so so much sugar
Horrible food. Taste like food with sauce that has been cooked over many times. Name of food totally different from the actual food. The price is ridiculous for the quality of the food. The place is pretty shabby too. Most definitely will not visit again
Have two times dinner here. Find out there’s have much more menu need to discover. Staff are busy but friendly. Don’t go there if in a rush. Really like there, thanks for hard work.
Very nice healthy choice nothing fancy but good food and easygoing price.
Had the wonton noodle soup and the spring rolls they were amazing! Definitely keen to try more of the menu
Not coming back. 25 min to serve a table for two, in a tiny reduced space.
Vegetarians wont be getting a tiny fraction of their protein intake needs in this place.
One of the dishes was uneatable- spicy, the oner one was almost noodles with a couple of vegetables.
Incredibly good value vegan food in the middle of Wellington's restaurant district. Staff are lovely and friendly, and the food is excellent. I strongly recommend the Roti Canai!
Yum! I had the mee goreng, and the roti! Service was prompt and efficient. Food was hot and delicioua and a very good price. I definately will be back!
If you are looking for an affordable and delicious meal look no further than Aunty Mena's. This food truely warms my soul, and is a great place to go on a cold Wellington day (which is many days of the year). The chicken laksa is my favourite dish, and the drumsticks are a delicious starter. Highly recommend!
Really generous and tasty portions of vegetarian food, I left feeling very satisfied. Thank you
This is an odd one. Many of the reviews are positive and all sorts of good things are stuck on their window so I thought I'd try Mena's because I love vegetarian Asian food. But you only have to look at the images to see what you will get no matter what you order. Some soggy vegetables - mainly carrot and cauliflower in an underwhelming tasteless stock over-dominated by turmeric and sugar, often with soggy overcooked noodles. I sampled a friend's mock dish (meat replacement) and it had the texture and taste of luncheon sausage (in the same tasteless broth). Nothing had the sharp tastes and vegetable crispness I associate with good Asian (vegetarian) cuisine. 2 stars is generous. Much better to go to a good Asian restaurant and order their vegetarian dishes.
Awesome that there's a place where you can get veggie options for classic asian dishes. Laksa was great and veg is fresh!
My daughter got food poisoning there and I was nauseous also after eating there this past weekend, disappointed after nearly 15 yrs of it being a guaranteed quality meal. They haven’t responded to any messages about it either. Might take a while to consider going back.
Great spot. Tasty food. Brilliant vegetarian. Had the Roti Chanai. Highly recommend. Awesome place with friends.
One of my all time favourites. Aside from being 100% vegan, all their dishes are an absolute delight and don't break the bank. Personnel is friendly as and always willing to go the extra mile for a guest.
Aunty Mena’s is the perfect place to go if you want to be looked after. “Soul Food” doesn’t even begin to describe the kinds of meals they serve; I always come away feeling satisfied and very happy after their delicious kai! Try the Roti Canai with potato, you will not be disappointed!
