66Great service and pleasant staff however with a very cramped area near the counter if you plan on getting a coffee to go be prepared to be standing awkwardly in others way or running around to be unobtrusive
Coffee was passable, service passable but so many flies inside I wouldn't consider eating here. Spent the whole time swatting flies, it was disgusting
One of the best breakfasts we’ve had, the menu is quite comprehensive and caters to all diets. Staff are very friendly and the chefs do not leave any leaf unturned. We’ll be back again.
Service was great, the mocha and date scone were average at best. The date scone tasted 2 days old hard stale and the mocha tasted like a hot chocolate.
Called in here for a coffee and wasn't disappointed.
What I REALLY loved about this place was the way the ladies greeted their customers
It was so evident that the ladies behind the counter viewed their patrons as more than just faceless punters paying for a hot drink.
How they spoke to their customers and how their customers spoke to the ladies showed a level of trust and obvious care that I've not seen in such a long time and have rarely seen displayed outside of NZ.
They way everyone interacted with each other was uplifting and made me so pleased I stopped in and got to briefly glimps their very special world
The coffee was good too Just maybe a tad cooler but once it had cooled down it was a very good flat white.
I would so love to visit again in the future when I'm back in NZ.
Love this Cafe. Good food. Good coffee. Good service. Definitely the Cafe to go to in petone and worth the drive out if you don't live in the area.
Warm, friendly, and excellent food. We went on a bitter wet winter day and warmed up with a chicken and mushroom pie (home made) and a most excellent burger.

Beanie Cafe - love it! Staff are great, friendly, genuine and it just has good energy because of this and the menu.
Love the half sized Vege Beannie, the veges are always fresh and the portion size is def enough.

I had the big beanie vegetarian breakfast and it was good. The foil was hot and cooked well. The front of house staff were welcoming and service was good. Not the most exciting menu but done well.
Its not often I go out to a cafe and write a review - I travel extensively and I cant rave higher about the quality of a simple coffee and poached eggs on toast - these guys know how to cook and barista and it is reflected in their food - well done amazing - also congratulations on a nice atmosphere early in the morning - I felt like a local! Keep it up I will be back!
Cool little spot, interesting decor, beautiful waitresses, yummy food and great portion sizes, good kids options too. Also a garden area outside where smoking is allowed. Top notch
Excellent coffee here and delicious food. Outside coffee bar is definitely a place to go for coffee or any other drink. Barista is excellent.
It was my first time, and I was not disappointed atall, soup of the day is what I had and it was nice with good balance of flavours and bread done prefect. It was worth a visit.
Very slow service for just poached eggs on toast with salmon. Had to wait 20 minutes and then they wanted to charge for hollandaise sauce. That's like charging for ketchup. Won't be going back.

Exceeded my expectations. When I asked for a newspaper they explained they didnt have 1 yet. As 1 made my coffee & breakfast another staff member ran to get paper! Breakfast was beautiful

Thai beef salad was delicious, no spice to it but very tasty! Great staff, good location and decent coffee.
Wonderful little gem on Jackson Street. Vegan options (coconut milk and almond milk, not just soy). Thick shakes and iced drinks were fab
