Benedicts Cafe reviews
48Perfect kid friendly space with great people around. Recommend to all parents who want to relax without worrying about their kids
This is really a sweet gem of a cafe. Always a lovely selection of fresh well presented food.
Staff are nice but the owners a grouch.
Ordered something, never arrived and went and asked for it, owner came out and said we needed to pay, then after checking the receipt didn't apologize or admit fault, just brought the food out.
Wonderful, spacious, welcoming, family friendly cafe. Yummu food and great coffee. Heaps of parking too.
5 stars in everything, great place to go in groups and take the children with you. Thanks!
A down-to-earth atmosphere with friendly service, where I enjoyed a yummy brunch of 'Corn Fitters'.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, just a great local to dine inAnd the lambs fry? The best I have ever had dining out
This is a great example of a community cafe meeting place. A must place to visit, so much more than just good food and coffee. Two years ago I described Benedicts as above.
Since then we have traveled extensively throughout the north island provincial towns and communities and stopped at 100s of Cafés. I will now say BENEDICTS is the BEST example of a community cafe meeting place we have experienced,
still serving a great selection of food without fuss, in a basic but homely environment. There is plenty of space so your conversations are still private and not drowned out by intrusive background music.
Maungaraki you are so privileged to have this wonderful and unique CAFÉ.
I've been twice for takeaway coffee. First time, the man behind the counter chatted with someone for a few minutes whilst we waited. Could've said something I know, but felt unconfident. Second time, incredibly slow service. Off putting.
The coffee is great. The Atmosphere is awesome The friendly staff brighten up your day. All in all a great place to hang out and the food is good.
Lovely little place. Nice food. Reasonable prices - it's not cheap but it's fine. Great under 8yo kids area. Staff are kind and friendly, thankyou.
It has a lovely community vibe, nice food - scones were nice. But unfortunately, the coffee was pretty awful. I didnt drink it. Over extracted flavour (or oxidised beans/grounds (i never heard a grinder going to make my coffee) and the milk had no texture (overheated, and tongue burning temp) Coffee is the let down here which is a real shame.
Not the best coffee but lovely spot for kiddies and babies to roam and explore the little playground, a great set up for them.
Coffee is overpriced for what it is. They mention how great the coffee is however I'm well travelled and I would rate the coffee as average. I've mentioned this to them twice and even with management with little or no response. Overall the food and service is good and it's a local small place so you need to take this into consideration and not have unrealistic expectations. Maybe I do have unrealistic expectations however I believe $7 plus for a large coffee is overpriced.
Coffee is average and overpriced however it does have a nice relaxed feel and the staff are friendly. Great for small children
Always beautiful smiles, smiling eyes behind the masks, great service, and a good laugh with the staff and patrons. Coffee is one of the best around and food is always great.
Quite possibly the worst breakfast I've ever eaten.not even sure if it was topped with hollandaise or cheese. Overpriced and not pleasant
My soy hot chocolate arrived quickly and was very nice.but it inexplicably took 25 minutes to microwave my pastryless keto friendly quiche.which was nice.the capsicum relish didn't really work with it though. Just a bog standard tomato one would've sufficed. Less is more. Would quite like to go back for the all you can eat pancakes (Saturdays).
Located beautifully however a bit expensive comparatively. Best thing is that they've got kids play area within the premises so you don't need to be worried about the kids while enjoying the sitting there. Further the washroom there has also got all the necessities you may need to change the nappy of your kids which I never spotted anywhere else.
