Big Thumb Chinese Restaurant reviews
54Booked a table, didn't know what to expect.ended up being chinese food, that was a nice surprise
Loved the restraunt, decent portion sizes
Ordered kung pao chicken and hot pepper chicken tasted amazing. Service was great too Big Thumbs UP
Nice place for family sharing dish! They do BYO so great for gatherings party
Yumcha here is good most of the time, but there is some off days as well.
One star in all respects. Dumplings were horrendous and served with some sort of horrendous sauce. Spring rolls and orange beef were incredibly average as was the service.
Had a really unpleasant experience here, was here for a friends birthday and we were having a B. Y. O. I understand that it is the norm for restaurants to charge a certain amount (i.e you have to pay for a main + corkage not just an entree). But some people at our table were not familiar with this and one person may have been a little rude about it. However, rather than remain professional and explain politely, our waitress yelled at our table in a really disgusting manner, to the point where I turned around and said "excuse me we are your customers you cannot speak to us like that". I understand a couple of members of my table may have not been 100% polite however the reaction was far fetched and very unprofessional. I then complained to the manager who tried to argue with me. The food was below average. I would give this restaurant a 2/10 for professionalism and food.
Not bad. Not a lot of atmosphere. Owners were very friendly, kind and courteous. A little over priced but tasty none the less.
Have been here for yum cha a few times in the last year and have rated it one of the best on wellington. A real variety of dishes and a couple of tea options. The owners are very lovely and staff are also sweet. A little on the expensive side for yum cha but I think it’s worth it.
Haven't been there for more than a year and surprisingly the Yam Char quality was great.now on my top list alongside with Majestic
Love big thumb. Their fried dumplings are awesome. Lawrence cooks amazingly good food. My happy place
A perfect way to start a drunken night on the town. Food was great, would highly recommend as a byo location for a birthday. In our case a stag party.
Fast and easy order, quick deliver, spacious, relatively clean and tidy. Ancient high chair with almost no tray, seat very loose and buckles even looser. Okay Peking duck, skin not crispy, definitely wrong for what they called Shiang hai dumplings.
Wow. Great dim sum restaurant. Friendly service and a selection of delicious food. Loved the custard buns.
Great place for a big group. Set menus are reasonably priced and there's a good variety of dishes
Grimy and sweated out. Decent, hard working staff but can't make up for the clapped out fixtures and amenities
