Cable Top Eatery

Very lovely service! We moved around and changed to different tables, but the staff here are super friendly! Thanks all of you guys and see you guys again!

We were a large group in for breakfast - the staff looked after us really well and the food and coffee was great.

After our visit to the Cable Car Museum, my wife and I drop by the Cable Top Eatery. It has indoor and outdoor dining.

It offers a range of local food and drinks, gelatos, pizzas, wine and NZ craft beers. We only settled for a cup of coffee.

Poor service, my order didn’t arrive despite asking/requesting twice and waiting for 1 hour hence had to leave the restaurant however the same waitress had the audacity to charge me for incomplete orders. Upon approaching she left however the incharge was apologetic and refunded my money

Disappointed to find this place choosing to discriminate even when all we wanted was a takeaway coffee.

Very disappointed, shown to a table (which we had to ask to be cleaned) and given menus. Sat for over 10 minutes while tables around us were served, staff ignored us. Finally walked out and again not acknowledged by staff. A real fail with service today

Fish wasn’t cooked, could see the batter still coming out! Told the waitress who didn’t apologise just took the plate. Also ordered a banana milkshake. It came out in two cups I gave one to my son and got confused with the other which I didn’t drink incase I’d be charged for another. Went to pay for the meal and was told that we asked for the milkshake to be split. Definitely not. Another waitress found out it was for another customer. So we ended up leaving the 2nd cup of milkshake that was paid for.

Outstanding food, service and views! We came straight up to the cafe after arriving in Wellington early on a Saturday morning and were in for a treat. The team were lovely and the breakfasts delicious. Hubby got the big brekkie, and I got The Bene. This has actual ham off the bone, the most divine parmesan and rosemary hash, poached eggs, and the best hollandaise sauce I have EVER tasted! Highly recommended.

So good! We're a vegetarian family of 6 (parents, toddler, three school kids) & we found plenty on the menu for us all to enjoy. Food was very nice & well-presented and the service fairly quick despite it being a busy day. Awesome views & easy to keep busy little people entertained with a quick stroll outdoors while we waited for food to arrive which is a huge plus!

Beautiful view, great coffee, lovely staff. Was told they had the best eggs bene in Wellington which I have to agree. Thank you very much

What an awesome team who took my class of 10 /11yr olds in on a cold wet day. So kind. Fast and efficient service -great food. Can't thank them enough.

Amazing place. What a view, what a great taste of food.
Tried their croissant with jam and also eggs on toast. Really superb.

Would highly recommend this lovely cafe. Staff are amazing, so polite & accommodating. Best coffee I've ever had! Food is amazing & very well presented. If you are ever in Wellington then this deserves a visit. You won't regret it. Cheers for your top service guys.

Hi, we ordered a 50-50 pizza, fries and milkshake and a coffee. We loved the view, the fries and the milkshake, but my half of pizza was a bit sad (prawn pizza). Also, our waiter was lovely, but his face mask was probably too big for him and was hanging by his chin all the time leaving his nose and mouth uncovered.

Absolutely the best place to eat with a view, and unmatched service within Wellington. A must stop, and we will return every time we visit Wellington!

Worst coffee I've had in Wellington, maybe just the server that day. They also topped up our milkshake with plain milk because I guess they didn't make enough, which is ok in a cheapo milkbar, was disappointed here, we'll try the other cafe for our weekly botanic walk, I can't handle paying for bad coffee. The view is awesome of course! And the food is decent

Beautiful view of Wellington and the harbour gets a five on its own. However, I also highly rate the lovely waitstaff, the excellent moist carrot cake and enjoyable coffee which was well done. We only stayed for 30 mins as we had a bit of time to kill, but regret not eating a full meal - some of the meals passing by looked great! Thanks team for making us feel welcome

Great Cafe with great views of the Harbour with great food and nice staff. Just a bit expensive though but otherwise great

Our first time here. Really nice coffee which came straight away but they somehow forgot our order for which we waited a long time. Place was very busy. But the lovely waitress apologized & offered us free drinks for the long wait which was great. Enjoyed the ordered meal.
