Circus Cinema Restaurant Bar reviews
49Another good movie, a great food in front of the open fire, with a good choice of alcoholic drinks to boot. Had a chat with some locals dining there too. Staff very happy in their work, great to deal with.we have been here before and will return.
Love this little place. Cozy cinema, with a great atmosphere. Sit in comfy sofa seats with a glass of wine and a restaurant meal ready when you leave the movie. What's not to love!
Enjoyed our starters and mains, a nice glass of local Pinot Noir wine Would be nice if they checked that the glasses and plates aren't chipped before serving tho, let it down a little.
Meal was disappointing, steak was overcooked and tasted liked cardboard, parsnip was undercooked so couldn't even get my fork into it. The potato was cooked very well with a nice crunchy texture. Choice of wine was very good.
Lovely little boutique cinema, comfy seats, plenty of leg room. Did not try the food on offer in the cafe but given how busy it was I'm guessing its good
I dont think Martinborough knows how lucky they are. Super spot, super service and stunning food. Thank you for a fantastic night.
We decided to visit upon hearing good things about the place. Unfortunately, we were quite let down with the quality of the food consider the price point. I tried the Tom Yum hotpot to find the seafood overcooked and the noodles undercooked - the soup base however was quite nice. My partner had the Japanese menu. Firstly the starter - sushi - was very bland - probably due to the rice lacking any seasoning? The main - Katsu chicken - didn't really resemble katsu at all. The dessert was also unfortunately underwhelming.
On a positive note. The staff were friendly and attentive, plus the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant.

Two weeks ago 14 of our friends dined at Circus. To our surprised we has a room separate from the restaurant and cinema. The room looked amazing as it had a large table setting and comfortable chairs to sit in as we had pre dinner drinks before our meal. All of our friends enjoyed the food as we all had a variety from the menu. I can rightly say the food was very tasty and all the comments from our friends were very positive. I would like to say a big thank you to the young lady who worked so hard to accommodate our large group, also to the chef for your tasty food that you produced. We all would recommend Circus as a restaurant to visit if you go to Martinborough. Written by Annette Broughton
Excellent, they restarted the movie after there were some people coming in late causing the few there not to see the start (and that happened so quickly). Initially the food was forgotten but when reminded and arrived was excellent, really enjoyed the calamari. Great little cinema, well worth the visit. Great service.
A real treat. Sadly I was a man at a girly movie. That's what you gotta do. So I took a nice wine into the theatre. Everyone was happy. Hic!
Lovely cinema and beautiful little restaurant! Great food and lovely atmosphere in their garden area! Great Boutique cinema!
The cinema is really nice good comfortable seating. We did not realise at the time we had to order drinks when buying tickets. Other patrons missed the start of the other film because of the wait to pick up tickets. I waited over 10 minutes for service at the bar, staff could see me there but ignored me so went without drinks 4 of us in the group. I will not be back.
Fairly regular visitor this place. Always receive a high standard of service and delicious meals.
WOW WOW WOW - what a great place to done for great prices. We spent a lovely weekend in Martinborough, to relax and unwind. The lovely man at Olivo said to try you and super impressed that he did. We shared the outstanding pate with a bit of carnalised onion. Oh I would so love that recipe:) We also had the decadent garlic bread. As a main we had the vintage pizza - once again amazing. We will have to go back for a visit. If you are in the area you must try this wonderful place.
Unique place where to have a dinner. Cozy atmosphere, nice service and interesting food menu. You definitely must try pizzas here, especially the one with lamb. Here you can also try local wine as well.
Food was really good. However there was a huge wait for the main. In the time between our starter and main, another couple had come in, ordered and eaten their main, ordered and ate desert and had left. The staff were completly unapologetic, only saying they were busy.
Service was good but could have been better if the waitress had more information about content, size & presentation of food. She was European so there may have been a language barrier but management's needs to offer more training.
This is such a nice place to catch a movie and enjoy a coffee or a meal before or after. We've had dinner only here before and it's been great. The staff are super friendly too!
Only four stars coz I’ve never given 5! Great service, great decor and outdoor green space. Dont have to sit and look at the street! I ahd the Thai beef salad with prawns, just what I needed.something fresh, cleansing, tasty, filling but light. Beef done just on rare. Great!
