Good food, but no atmosphere, you come here for a reasonable priced meal. The place looked scabby and the chef was doing his routine, looked bored.

Been here many times over the years. Consistent, quality, delicious food every time. If Ben is your chef, you're in for a good time. Would recommend the Kai Set. Fujiyama is a must try.

Had a really awesome dinner here with my family. It was my first time experiencing the food being made in front of me. Even though we shared an extended dining table with other patrons, it felt very private nonetheless! The ‘cooking show’ was so much fun for us all, and we were in awe at the chef’s amazing talent. He was very engaging and friendly and the food was incredible. Very filling and it was quite nice having breaks in between each different meal to watch and chat and enjoy each thing that was made. Catching the rice and the egg was hilarious! The food was all mouth watering and the ice cream at the end topped it off. We all really enjoyed ourselves and the staff were all lovely. Nice authentic gem to find in the Wellington foodie scene! Will definitely be returning. I recommend the emperor meal (sorry if I have that wrong. It was the $65 set meal and included fish, chicken, steak, rice, green tea, ice cream etc)

Food is absolutely delicious here. Everything thing is delicious and the overall experience of the food being prepared it excellent. I enjoyed the whole night and portion size is perfect. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Been here a couple times now, and it's great. Such a fun dining experience with great food.

We had a booking, we were seated 30 mins after the booking time, the drinks order took 40 mins for 2 vodka lemon lime and bitters, 2 cokes a an orange juice, the chef was another wait of 30 mins. When he arrived we were actually looking at where else we could go eat, it was late by this stage and hungry teenage girls is not fun for anyone.
The chef was the ONLY saving grace, he was funny and understood the importance of coeliac disease

I’ve been coming to this place for years and are in my top 3 restaurants in Wellington. Food is always so flavourful and tasty with good portion sizes. The vegetarian set is delicious and is my new favourite. They play interactive games which are always fun for the kids. The guy at the counter is always so welcoming and nice. I wish I caught the name of the chef that I had last time because he is my favourite and cooks everything perfectly.

Parking was a bit hard and maps took us behind the restaurant, but the mission was so worth it. The customer service was amazing they were fun, you catch the egg in ur mouth if you can haha they flip bowls and u have to catch it. If you don't want to that's fine. The food was cooked infront of you, they communicate to your liking. It is pricey but you can choose a cheap one which is also good! And the experience plus food is worth it. The amount you get is definitely worth it thankyou for a lovely time

I went there with my partner to have dinner the first day of the year and we had such a good time.
The chef was amazing and entertained us with his teppan skills, plus the food was absolutely delicious.
Even if they were clearly understaffed, our server did his best to serve our drinks as fast as he could, which was very appreciated.
100% recommended.

Our team had our Christmas party here today and all had a wonderful time. They opened for lunch just for us and had one very skilled staff member who made the drinks, cooked the food, entertained us and then took our payment. He was amazing, so patient and friendly, didn't try to rush us. Thanks so much for a lovely time.

The experience was good they brought the table to share the fun.however the daycore is a bit out dated and from the out side it looks like an old shack to a half way house food was good worth what was payed people were hospitable but hungry guy like me needs more.

Great entertainment by the chef. The food was very nice and there was plenty of it over the many courses. The restaurant could do with a bit of modernisation but it is ok. Need more attention to keeping the drinks flowing. They seemed to miss out on a good amount of extra income. Overall a very good group experience.

Chefs starting to throw random food at me?

I was out for a dinner night with my friends and everything was alright until one of the cook started to splash the food towards me. People might think this is funny and is part of the culture, but I found my whole experience horrible and dreadful.

Besides, I don't know how do they define "friendly dining facilities" when I found the girl manager is very slow on making drinks and orders. And accidentally saw and smelled some smoke in the kitchen? Bet that was cigarettes

If there's anything to change about this place, it should be everything.

Don’t even bother eating here! Worst place in Wellington region! They drip feed you miniature portions and it costs an arm n a leg not worth your money. Food was poor.

Was great! The chefs did an amazing job entertaining the group and funny trick shots. Remember to catch the rice bowl if you do go there! Makes the dining out experience interactive which you can't get in many other places. One staff member ignored me when I asked for help which wasn't very nice but it seems all the other staff was great, kind and good at what they do.

Had my son's 21st birthday here & we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The food & service was great with the bonus of chefs cooking and entertaining us with their skills.
I've developed a taste for warm Saki now

Beautifully cooked fresh food a real feast. The perfect place for a post Covid team bonding night seated around the barbecue able to talk to people all around the large seating area, lots of laughs as the chief entertains and prepares course after course. The karaoke was a great way to finish off an evening, hearing other guests go for it was huge fun.
