The service was poor and disapointed. They gave us a Yum cha menu and I ordered 3 dishes from Yum cha menu and we thought it was the meal menu because they asked if we were going to have meal menu. So we thought the Yum cha menu was the meal menu. But when we paid for the meal the price was absoultey different from the menu book we saw. They told us that the meal menu has a different price than the Yum cha price by showing a different menu book. We were concused because they didn't tell us about that the price was different between the meal and Yum cha. We ordered sweet amd sour pork and the price was $15 but then when we knew the price was different it was $28. Very confused. They should've explained to us about this and also when we said we are having meal menu they didn't give us the meal menu book, they only gave us the Yum cha menu. Also we ordered 2 coke and 1 bowl of rice but they just forgot about our order and we didn't get it so we just canceled.
Very bad experience and even1 star is too much for them.

Highly recommended to all if you are after a very authentic Chinese experience. We went with very high expectations and were not disappointed. When I walked in felt like I had just walked into a restaurant in China, where I traveled for business a couple of years ago. Attentive and friendly staff. Very tasty food. Decor is plain but classy, albeit with a Chinese style (as you would expect!).
We will be back!

We visited last night. It was our anniversary. We wanted to go somewhere special and we did. We want to commend the management and staff for the lovely food. It really was superb. The unobtrusive attention was lovely and I really do recommend this restaurant to lovers of authentic and special Chinese food. Our favorite dish was the deep fried prawns with coriander. Absolutely devine. We will definitely visit again.

I Ordered a lamb shank meal off the menu. I was so excited to eat it and then the meal I received was nowhere near to the images that was pictured. Basically it was 5 very small lamb chops served on pringles. For $48. Highly dissapointed, do not recommend

Amazing food and great atmosphere. For corkage fee u can even bring your own bottle of wine and save up on the drinks. Staff super nice and attentative. Our server even went out of her way to get me an item I wanted to try so badly but which wasn't on the dinner menu apparently.

Great for a group get together or a a couple. This is a great place for family dining - everyone gets to pick what they like. It's busy and fun. There are veg options which is good. Love love love the coconut buns.

What an absolute delight! Go here for a delicious Yum Cha lunch with the kids. Fast, excellent taste, clean. A great choice.

In a word, disappointing. In pretty much every respect, this restaurant failed to deliver. The seating was fairly prompt as expected for a large restaurant. The service was poor. We weren't given Yum Char menus even when asked, even though every other customer seemed to receive one. Our food took a long time to come out, and tables seated after us actually received their meals before us. We didn't order anything particularly exotic. What arrived was a sorry representation of actual Chinese cuisine. The food was either overcooked or undercooked. In each case, it was bland and soulless. I gave it one star solely because the tea served was surprisingly good. Then again, it is hard to screw up adding hot water to chinese tea. The price was affordable, albeit using the entertainment guide vouchers. However, considering the poor service, poor ambience and very mediocre food, we still feel we overpaid. Anything but cheap and cheerful.

Awesome food and service. Went there with family and by far the best yum cha we had in Wellington. Will definitely go again.

Excellent service. Judy was absolutely lovely. Of you need yum Cha or BYO, she will look after you accordingly. I highly recommend this place.

The food is outstanding and so it’s the service. Very generous portions. One of the best Peking Duck in the area, if not the best. Very good yum cha as well.

It was absolute chaos, we waited 1 hour for any yum char tray to come up. We were there for 3 hrs. They were short staff and customers were having to get hot water and water for themselves. Appealing really!

Outstanding food quality! Simple starters but every single one is so delicious. Prawn dumplings are full filled with whole prawn inside. Meat in sho mai are chunky, full of flavor. All of them are house-made, doesn’t like the normal cheap one with lot flour. Glutenese rice chicken is the best I’ve every try in NZ. You shouldn’t miss this gem in Wellington. Our first table booking was 5: 30, but it’s cold, windy and rainy. We ask them if we can get in earlier and they are very kindly let us in. Very polite and great service. End up ordering too much food than we can eat, but seriously we will definitely come back again when we’re in Wellington. Highly recommend!

Mothers Day delight. Very busy but staff was sufficient so lots offered in Yum Cha. Not expensive - WE HAD 10 and all left full! & HAPPY!

Wonderful food but chaotic system. Even with a booking there was a long queue. Long queues to pay and there was a big gap when no food came out. Seems like they needed more staff

Former waiter here; hygiene here is a joke, ducks are defrosted in a bucket with lukewarm water for hours on end.most of the food is reheated and waiters aren't trained at all.

I have been a frequent patron of GC but had the misfortune of experiencing the worst of them today. It was the middle of the lunch rush and the restaurant was only at a third capacity. Despite a lot of staff about the service was awful and the food options (yumchar, where they bring dishes around the tables) were minimal and only luke warm. They have generally been at the premium end from a price point (and still are), but based on today's experience I won't be back anytime soon.

A beautiful and spacious restaraunt, with friendly staff ready to meet your dining needs.
On top of that, the food was absolutely exquisite, highly recommend the eggplant, it was sweet and umami and as a carnivore, it was delicious!
