As a Visitor to Wellington I cannot recommand this medical Centre to anybody. I have an underlying condition which can cause open wounds. One of those wounds was infected so I rang Johnsonville and was given an appointment. I was very happy about this as we only had the afternoon in Wellinton and the time was precious as we have relatives in Wellington who we do not see very often. When I arrived I was checked in and asked to wait. 30 min later I was called in by a nurse and told that this was a booking mistake and they would not see casual patidnts today. I should go to the hospital and just be patient. I was quite upset as I had made clear from the start that I was casual and did not have much time. I was sent away by the nurses superior with a simple "we are sorry you need to find help elsewhere" I would have been fine with being told I cannot be seen, but having to wait and to be sent away with just the shrug of the shoulder does not speak well for this medical centre.

Started out 7 weeks ago with cough, sore throat, low energy, tight chest. Booked an appointed saw a doctor. 3 weeks later, no improvement, called and was booked in, this time got the “rest, drink hot water with lemon and honey prescription”. Wife also went in to see a doctor - same treatment plan. 3 weeks later no improvement, get seen by a doctor who says its a new infection, still no medication for the ear ache, sore throat, body aches. Get told to “rest”. Now 7 weeks on, I still have a sore throat and cough as does my wife. Fast approaching $300 worth of doctor’s fees for honey water and lemon treatment plan.

No follow-up call given that I have been there 3 times for the same illness - I would expect the doc to actually care whether it is a virus, baterial or something else.

Regards
Drinker of Hot Water with Honey and Lemon.

Very disappointed! What’s wrong with Johnsonville medical Center, sent a letter to me saying I didn’t attend my appointment and unattended appointment will be charged for $45 penalty fee. It was for my son, and we did attend the appointment, I booked the appointment for him and also called you to confirm it was for my son! Got another letter saying my husband didn’t pay for the fee, nobody told him about it, how would he know he needed to pay and not covered by ACC, poor service, check your system before you send out the letters.

Very unfriendly service. When I rang to tell them i would be 10 minutes late for my appointment they told me I had to re-book.absolutely no customer focussed service. How many times have I sat there in the waiting room waiting long after my appointment time (the last time it was 40 minutes-no apology was forthcoming!) The only time that matters is theirs not the customers’…. Money is the driver not your welfare here!

This medical centre does NOT care for the well-being of their patients. I have had what started as a minor problem turn into over 4 MONTHS of hell, 3 rounds of antibiotics, and now I’m back to the start again because every doctor I have seen here has failed me. The worst experience in this entire process being prescribed a medication that hasn’t been available since LAST YEAR and not being able to get it changed at the pharmacy after the pharmacist, myself and even my mother in another part of the country tried to contact them SEVERAL times to talk to the doctor who prescribed me the wrong thing. Because you neglected to call me and the pharmacy back even after you SAID YOU WOULD I had to start the treatment incorrectly for several days, and when you finally contacted me at the very END of the day the FOLLOWING WEEK to fix it and I began that treatment, it didn’t work properly. Hundreds of dollars spent here and not a single person who cares. Going to start all over again at a different doctor as this has left me sick, upset, out of pocket, and unbelievably frustrated. Would NEVER recommend this practice.

So I'm new at Johnsonville Medical Centre, it's probably just me but I expect to got some kind of text reminder of my appointment day or appointment confirmation, I didn't get any one of those. I always got it from my previous GP, dentist and hell even from massage place.

Sometimes I forget about the appointments I had, because of work and home stuff, so I really appreciate if someone reminds me of my appointments.

For me it's just a good customer service to remind your client about the appointment, because you know, you want them to come and give you their money.

I visited the medical centre today and saw lovely Lisa Reid, however the receptionist was extremely rude, abrupt, unprofessional and unhelpful. I don't think she has the training she needs to be the front face in healthcare sector. Very disappointed:/

Hello,

I had c- section one month ago. I was not fine as I was facing pain and haemorrhoids. I went to the Johnsonville medical centre on 27/07/2021. And met with Dr. Alana and it was really amazing experience with her. She treated me so well. Yesterday, I and my baby travis was having appointment, as I was not feeling well. I got appointment at 2: 30 pm and my baby got check up appointment at 3: 30 pm. My baby was unsettled, when we were about to leave at 2: 30, I called there and lady name hannah or anna, she pucker i asked can i come 10-15 minutes late, she said no, but your baby and you can see the doctor on same time at 3: 30 and I said okay. But, when I went there, we were waiting for the doctor and Doctor ting came. I told me and my baby having appointment with you. She said your name is not on my system, i was upset but, I said just check my baby. She was just continuously telling this thing, I am having15 min only and I need to check other patients. She checked baby very quickly. I am not happy and satisfied at all, because receptionist didn’t book me at all and Doctor was doing very irresponsible behaviour. I had c- section and really hard for me to come again and again, because I am facing the piles as well.but, Doctor was not listening to me properly. She was in hurry. She gave medication, she didn’t tell me how to use and I am still facing the pain and trouble with piles. It was very bad experience there. I am really hurt.

Worst service. My wife went there for a simple blood test and the nurse- Sam Ziaja could not able to take blood in 3 instances and ask for senior and in the mean time my wife got fainted. He clearly did not know how to take a simple blood sample. They even didn't ask for water when she came in senses until my wife ask for it. She had concussion as her head hit the floor and now it's more than 4 months and she is still suffering in the pain and both of our lives have been affected due to this. The hospital has been very unsupportive in treating her. They didn't provided any after care to her after the fall. Instead the nurse left the room saying that you can leave the room whenever you want. I will never recommend this medical centre to anyone. They have no humanity and very untrained staff!

Dr Owen Miller needs to work on his interactive skills. What's the point of studying for years to get a medical degree, if you dont know how to talk to your patients without making them feel uncomfortable. Zero social skills. Comes across as really unpleasant which is a shame because the reception and nurses were wonderful. Owen Miiller just ruined the whole experience for me.

You need some new admin staff, called through today to get some advice and book an appointment and they were incredibly rude and unprofessional over the phone. Unable to answer basic questions and seemingly blind to the available appointment times in front of them and need to be asked several times to get one simple answer. Once we finally got the appointment booked the email confirmation had the wrong name on it! Seriously appalling, I can't understand why anyone would go here.

My partner was emailed another patient’s confidential personal information. On a surface, this is ok, people make mistakes. Usually there is a practice to inform the other patient that their information had been sent to someone by mistake, right?

Not here, instead, the initial email back blamed the senior woman of somehow mistakingly entering the wrong information. Zero personal responsibility for an important mistake made. You do not get choose what is important when it comes to privacy in New Zealand.

On top of what has been a sub par experience thus far for my family. We will be moving to another practice and do not recommend you enrol here, unless everywhere else is booked. You are a customer, not a human.

Called earlier, I'm on my bluetooth and need to make voice louder than normal voice. Nurse told me that I should not tell but I'm not and she seems to be very judgemental. Pls review phone manners and ensure that you listen first to the concern prior to dismissing the caller.she told me that she will have someone call me back. Been having problems chasing to upload e medical for my in laws been going on for a while now

Called 5 times to enroll my family of 3 since we are moving to Johnsonville this month but was hung up on 5 times, rude customer service from the receptionist who seemed like an old lady. I spoke to her with respect and I was polite but I was hung up on repetitively by the receptionist who seems like she hated enrolling new patients and wanted to get rid of the phone call. Enrolled at a much better medical centre. They should know that their first point of contact when it comes to customers/patients are the receptionists. If they fail to deliver good customer service they're just bound to lose people going to their centre.

Really poor communication and customer service. Impossible to book an appointment, even for a sick child. The admin staff are all over the place and have no idea what is going on, can't even pronounce their Doctors names correctly or any Maori words. Enrolled with a different practice.

Richard Tyler didn't display much professionalism. He also didn't address my concern or really show any empathy. Just wanted me in and out as quick as possible. I feel like I wasted money going for nothing.

Have to give you one star because of the rude receptionist. They need training on how to speak to their clients/patients. A few good doctors, namely Simon, Mark and Sian. The rest need a happy pill or chill pill before they start the day i guess.
