Karaka Cafe reviews
74Great food and wonderful service. Best fish and chips and we've tried just about everywhere! Will definitely be going back. Much, much better than the Cafe at te papa!
Great kai and lovely service, was dining earlier in the day so not too busy but can imagine this place would get crazy! Excellent service, great conversation. Food was quick and big portions, far more than I could manage. Coffee was good.
Great service, amazing food, fabulous cocktails. Really friendly staff who take that extra step.
A rich and pleasant surprise to come to this beautiful place for breakfast, we ordered about 7 different dishes, all with excellent presentation and delicious, definitely if I return to NZ I have to go eat at KARAKA CAFE, enjoy it
We enjoyed a fantastic lunch here, amazing food and fantastic service, and so accommodating for our little kids too. The best seafood chowder! Highly recommend Karaka Cafe
Such a good vibe love that it’s such a culture rich environment with amazing staff. Couldn’t recommend more. And the food was fantastic!
Cute but mid. Food was good but the hangi looked like a mess. The drinks looked soooo good. I came with the group from weta and our reserved table was abit bad but there seemed to be alot of other reservations at the time. We were given little weta workshop themed things which was nice. The soup of the day was amazing, the chicken nibbles were disappointing. The fish was really good but the hangi was kinda mid.
Fantastic service. Really appreciated the care and friendliness of all the sraff. The interaction with sraff felt very personal.
Fantastic experience. The food, the staff, and the atmosphere are simply phenominal. We came as part of a Weta Workshop tour that included lunch at this cafe. As such, the menu options were limited but were still very very good. The servers were all friendly, efficient, and capable. Absolutely wonderful time here. The next time I am in the area, this will absolutely be on my itinerary!
I had the mince on toast, tasted good no complaints about it at all. Only reason for the 4 star is the portion size didn't really match the price in my opinion. Will definitely be back though it tasted great.
Beautiful food, lovely friendly staff, awesome location and a relaxing atmosphere. Doesn’t get any better than this.
We were a large group, service was amazingly great. Food was out of this world delicious. Servers were exceptional. Shame I live in Waitaha so I can't go every week for some ka pai kai
We like this place very much. Sitting outside and enjoying the sun and a lovely drink and very good food.
Worked here. Ate here. Got married here. Attended workshops and graduations here. Paul and Keri run a tight ship and do everything they can to ensure that you have an amazing time. Whether you're in for brunch or need a venue for that special event, they've got it covered!
Lovely atmosphere and spot to chill and soak in and appreciate how beautiful Wellington is.
A true cafe of Āotearoa, adore the bilingual menus, the use of indigenous ingredients, te reo on all signs and staff willing to help us pronounce kōpū as we tried to order.
Love the electronic ordering system, great use of technology (not compulsory if you arent inclined!).
We ordered drinks only, best ever chocolate milk shakes - kids in heaven!
Placed and paid for our drinks at the bar. Had to ask staff twice to follow up, 25 minutes later drinks arrived. Yes, it was busy however that was a lengthy time to wait.
Luca (Koro) our server was absolutely brilliant, played along with us all through our visit and made it an awesome time. The food was dam yummy and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely go on our places to go to when we visit the capital.
This setting and venue is so beautiful but the service needs some work. The table service from the young staff was fine and they were very polite but the slowness (almost 30 mins) and accuracy of our drink order was not great which was disappointing. We did ask a couple of times where the second part of our order was bit not much joy. I will give it another go but I hope it is better next time.
