Long Beach Cafe

Even though there was only two vegan Main options (that my partner and I shared), Both were amazing! And I definetly could have eaten twice over.
I forgot to take photos, but here's an already devoured pizza.
(Actually we came back and ate it all again and I took photos).

Staff and FOH Manager were Fantastic! We are buzzing after the service, the food, and the atmosphere. Have been to 2 other eateries in Waikanae and disappointed by them. So thanks for restoring our faith in eating out here.

Great food, a little slow on service the last time I visited but they’re super polite, professional servers. Food is overall great but maybe a little fancy/unusual in taste choices, really didn’t enjoy great big slices of garlic on my margherita ngl (loved the garlic flavour though).

Food was good, but we were disappointed when we ordered a kids apple juice for a 3 year old, which came with a straw shorter then the glass it was in. The server didn't see an issue. I had to pick it out of of the juice. I get your using paper straws for the environment, but I think you missed the mark with a kids drink.

Excellent staff, great cabinet and menu options. You won't want to leave this idyllic cafe. Send the kids over the road to the playground and unwind.

Went for lunch on cold, wet day. Warmly welcomed & seated although we hadn't booked and they were very busy. Quick, friendly waiter. Food - pizza, chips & garden salad all excellent and arrived promptly. Lovely on a cold day & also in summer when outside area & kitchen garden available. We will be back!

Place is closed for renovations no notifications in local newspapers or social media. Very disappointed as a few of us ended up there only to find notice in front door.

Friendly staff, but the pizza we ordered was just slapped in the box, for the price we paid, would expect much more. Next time we will just go to dominos.

Terrible service. Arrived, waited more than 5 minutes to be acknowledged. Was seated outside in the cold and told food would not take long. After 15 minutes with no service we asked for service and were told it would be 20 mins for coffee, we were told they were understaffed and we could leave if we wanted.
Which we did.
So rude!
25 minutes of our life we will never get back. Went to another cafe which offered awesome service.

Professional and friendly staff. An interesting menu that delivers beautiful food. Try the chickpea pancake with yummy vegetarian toppings.

Went there again for dinner. The service and food was very good as usual. Booking in advance for Friday night appears to be essential. The place was packed. Only thing I didn't like was the loud noise inside. The owners should install some noise cancelling features.

Generous portions for the money. If you don't mind spending more, then it's a neat place for a gathering.

Slow, rude, noone seems to know what's going on. Waited 25 minutes to be told coffee would 20 more minutes. Place was packed with only 2 inexperienced girls to serve. Come on management!

This cafe is so pretty and has wonderful service! The food arrives quickly and it’s very close to the beach, so you can always go for a walk along the beach after lunch or before dinner! It’s also close to a playground, so if you are looking after kids, or like me, you have the babysit them, take them there after! The kids I was looking after loved the playground. The food is absolutely delicious, but takes quite long to arrive, so don’t go there for lunch if you’re in a rush to go to places or have a meeting, because you’ll likely be late. Although it takes long, the food is so worth the wait. It has a beautiful atmosphere, it’s clean and perfect for going by yourself, on a date, or with your family, a stunning cafe with a beautiful setting, right next to one of Kapiti’s most iconic beauties - Kapiti Island.

Came across this Cafe when we were staying at an Air BnB in the area. Popped in for a drink. Inside was full so had to sit outside. Thought it would be too cold but to our amazing surprise all the concrete seating outside was heated. It was amazing. Also blankets around the place if you were still cold which we were not. Did not want to leave. First time we have ever come across heated concrete seats. It was enough for us to go back the next night for dinner. Yes we sat outside again!

This was the best vegan breakfast I have had in NZ. Great variety of items on the plate all of which were cooked perfectly. Nice warm sunny place to eat too. Congrats on providing a vegan offering. This puts you ahead of most restaurants. The world is changing and it's great to see that this restaurant is up on the huge eating changes that are coming world wide.

Great choice for brunch. The outdoor seating is great as is the indoor. Nice and simple brunch menu with some different choices to your usual brunch options. The food was beautifully presented, really good quality, and tasty. The coffee is great with a large we amount of alternative milk options. The service is very onto it, even when it's busy.
