Long Beach Cafe

Tried to eat here twice. The first time we ordered and my meal never came. After an hour and everyone else had eaten I tried to cancel and they insisted that I pay for the meal.
The second time no one seated us (despite the sign) and others walked past and were then informed that the last free table was taken. There were 4 empty tables

Thanks for lunch today Guys and Gal's. We 4 ordered lunch service was bright and cheerful. We 4 were satisfied a brief tour of the garden back into the Rolls to continue our afternoon.

Very friendly, accomodating staff. Lovely environment outside. Luscious planting ans seating. The most amazing concrete benches, that are HEATED! Amazing.

Just popped in for a dessert and have to say it was possibly the worst dessert of my life. The ‘macaroon’ ice cream sandwich was nothing more than a thinly burnt biscuit, didn’t resemble a macaroon in the slightest and the ice cream was just down right awful. 2nd bad experience here and it’s not like the staff ask how your meal was anyway. If you’re looking for good dessert go next door to the front room or want quality, delicious food the Mediterranean food warehouse has the best food in Kapiti. Spend your money elsewhere

Had the most amazing time here at Long beach. The staff are friendly. They gave us free chips & water plus the next day we came back for a coffee and were given 2 free cheese scones. Really lovely staff here. I recommend to take a visit. Will definitely come back

The place was pretty crowded when we came. Looking for breakfast we went with scrambled egg on toast. Huge portion of eggs. I am not sure but it tasted as there was some curry powder in the eggs.
All in all the food was not the best and the tea was tasteless.

Nice warm & comfortable spot to eat.

A good sized meal. I can't say I liked the 'never heard of' fish, but the twice cooked chips were delicious.
Need to find a better place to drink a hot chocolate though.

This is the place to be in Waikanae, for breakfast, lunch or dinner or even just coffee! Owned by locals, run by locals, this place feels like the heart and soul of Waikanae beach.
All the food is great, coffee is great, beer is great!

Friendly attentive service, very good food and the North End beer on tap was pretty good too. A very good range of pizzas, and other food styles. Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options too. But what made it special was the great atmosphere of the place.

My meal was a flatbread with hummus smashed avocado and warm salmon with a lemon cheek on the side to squeeze over, absolutely delicious and my cocktail a lemon drop was to die for, can't wait to go again!

Great service, amazing pizzas and of course, their double fried chips are legendary! It was incredibly busy, queues out the door to get seated, but we were helped quickly and our food arrived within 15 minutes. My go-to place when I'm in Waikanae.

One of my fave cafes in Waikanae. Dont feel food quality today was up to their normal standard. I got the halloumi and melon salad, my companions the big breakfast, which I' didnt thank was that big lol.
They were extremely busy, didnt mind the 30min food wait (they did warn us when we entered the cafe).

Cannot fault customer service.

Same consortium own these restaurants. Shame you cant hear people talking to you.
Doesnt make for a pleasant atmosphere.

Beautiful warm cheese scone in very peaceful surroundings. Very popular casual cafe. Loads of people calling in for coffee after a bike ride.

Love long beach. Delicious food and pizza, and great staff. The craft beers also go down a treat! The head chef is fantastic, although can be loud at times, he is glorious. Highly recommend

Great food, excellent service, if you sit at the 2 spare seats looking into the kitchen expect to drool watching all the delicious food being put together.

Possibly the worst service I've ever encountered. Despite living close-by I will never return, after having experienced extreme rudeness on 2 occasions.

Super accommodating staff with blankets and heaters, kind and really helpful. Great food, the chilli cheese fries and pizzas were heaven. So many carbohydrates, zero regrets. Definitely planning on coming again.

Loved the truffle oil! Such efficient friendly service right by the fire on a cold day. A cracker of a lunch thank you LB!
