Mayfair Cafe & The BoileRoom

About a dozen of us from work went for breakfast, we sent in the order a couple of days before so there woildnt be too much of a wait. The staff were so on to it, it came out quickly nothing was missed and the food was delicious

I love this old cinema building, coffee is great, would have given it 5 starts for food except my muffin was really sweet. My mates said the scones were fantastic. I've had good breakfast here before too.

Long wait for food, much longer than told. Others got their food before us, who had ordered after us.

Good food, friendly staff, and a pleasant environment. We drive to Mayfair from Lower Hutt because the whole experience is worth it.

Breakfast was really good and coffee was nice. My only little negative feedback was too much hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict

Very nice and cozy place, hidden away from main street. Lots of old film exhibits from old theater projectors etc. Nice coffee and food.

This is my second visit to this cafe this week. Delicious food and coffee. Amazing homemade hollandaise sauce.had to stop myself from licking my plate

Absolutely love Mayfair cafe. Friendly service and food is amazing. They never disappoint. Keep up the good service and food.

Always wonderful coffee, service and food. It can get very busy on the weekends around lunchtime so be prepared for maybe a 30 minute wait. Otherwise everything on offer is tasty and well priced. My partner and I go each Sunday for brunch, wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks guys

Waited over 2 hours for food, still didn't arrive.had to walk out. Really disappointed. Not going back.

I had the hash stack from the breakfast menu today and it was absolutely delicious. Also a great atmosphere and really friendly, efficient staff.

Unfortunately it took over 1 1/2 hours for food to arrive. When it finally arrived orders were wrong. Disappointing.

I have been to Mayfair Cafe many times with friends/family, great atmosphere, friendly staff, fast service and the best pizza by far in all of Hutt City, love the fire too on chilly days.

What an embarrassment. I remember when this cafe was represented accurately by the reviews. Today I was forced to carry someone else's dishes off my table and to the counter because the staff almost intentionally forgot to collect it. Not just that but my food sat in the little window for half an hour getting cold. It not like the cafe was full, it's just no one wanted to do their job. By the time my food finally reached my table, it was almost as if it hadn't been cooked at all. Worst customer service I've had to witeness.

Waited 2 hours for food. Half the coffees never arrived. Kept being told 10 more minutes.for over an hour

Customer service always seems to be a distant 2nd place to faffing behind the counter. Food took more than an hour to arrive, and was left to sit for a long time before anyone delivered it, so was no longer hot. Same happens every time we go. Problems could be solved by making someone 100% responsible for customer care.
When there is food sitting there for ages, and your waiter is playing in the fridge behind the counter, i feel like getting the food myself.

A very busy restaurant at lunch time staff are very obliging nothing is any trouble good cross selection of food from cabinet to menu

The atmosphere at the Boiler Room was relaxing as usual. It is such an interesting atmosphere.
The Vegetarian breakfast was delicious, with a delicious gluten free option.
The Big Breakfast was filling and delicious.
The coffee was delicious. I love the coffee from the Boiler Room.

I was whelmed, as in it's exactly what I expected. The food was lackluster, with small, bland portions, and it took over an hour for the food to arrive. There was no water on the table, which you would expect from any other respectable cafe or restaurant. They only brought it out at the end of the meal right before we were about to pay and do better things with our time. Better things such as telling people not to waste their time with Mayfair's bad food and bad service.
