Nikau Cafe reviews
61Fantastic place to meet work colleagues for the first time since Covid-19 lockdown. Even had a couple of choices for dairy and gluten free me.
Good food, great coffee and excellent service; Benjamin brings more smiles to a day than the coffein in the coffee can.
Good food and gluten free options, the only thing I have to complain about is that they were a bit slow.
Ceviche by the terrasse was super tasty and ingredients were perfectly ripped
Coffee was delicious too! Great place with friendly staff, highly recommended!
Service is SO BAD today. We had to get our own menus and food (even cup of tea) took forever to come out with no communication from staff. I’ve had other good experiences here in the past so am surprised. It really is a huge wait for any service or food. Disappointing
When the food did arrive, it was delicious.
Wonderful brunch here. The coffee is delicious and quick friendly service. Definitely recommend as a great brunch spot on the weekend.
Delicious iced chocolate and scone! Nice vibe and not very busy midday Sunday. Scone was a little pricey at $5 but tasty.
Great service, excellent food and great coffee. Highly recommended if you are in Wellington and want to be looked after with enthusiasm. Over to you.
Great cafe tucked away from the hum of Wellington's CBD. Excellent quality food and service, always a treat.
Good coffee, super friendly staffs, good place to have a little chat with friends. I visit Nikau almost weekly with friends and their little children. Even with kids around, their staffs can keep their cool when the kids spills this and that, we parents appreciate that. Thank you, you are all awesome!
Fluffy for kids only 0.50 that is just very cheap comparing to other coffee shop around cbd. I love their turmeric latte, and of course the coffee that always great. They have the best cheese scone in the city, donuts of the day and cookies are favorite to the kids.
Expensive for breakfast. Menu could Do With an update Eggs swimming in (sage) butter is not a good look. Tiny avocado on toast (Bruised) for $12.50!?
Never disappoints and can't be beaten on a sunny day. They stick to their knitting and get it right.
Chose this place for brunch because of the rave reviews. Coffee was good and great service. However food was disappointing as was the wait time for it. I ordered the hot smoked salmon which was cold and meal was fairly flavourless. Friend ordered the eggs and mushrooms which was also just plain and disappointing
Great food and customer service even during the lunch rush. I'd recommend the kegree for sure. Chill vibes as well.
Just got back in welly after years overseas, heard nikau cafe changed owners so I went to check it out today feeling a bit nostalgic. Gotta say I had the tastiest/prettiest supreme coffee and the kedgeree is still the best in the country!
very good service, though I missed the happy/friendly vibe that use to rule Nikau.
RE Victoria University Confucius Institute Reginoal Mandarin Competition June 2019: "On the catering front Nikau Cafe did an excellent job with their delicious lunch which had a subtle, Asian Fusion twist and afternoon tea cakes. They also provided a wide range of beverages and cold drinks for the many attendees present. The staff was most efficient with service which was delivered with impeccable etiquette"
Light and with attentive service, Nikau serves good coffee, nice lunches but overpriced cakes. Earthquake closure of public library and parts of Civic Square have cost Nikau foot traffic but it's worth ferreting out.
We arrived a bit late and we're offered the happy hour to empty the counter. Donut and chocolate muffin were really good. I hope to be able to come back one day to try something else.
The kedregee is delicious and well-worth a visit here, but you shouldn't miss the ceviche. Excellent coffee and a very tart and refreshing lemonade make perfect accompaniments.
Spot on flat white with Supreme bean. Just really weird customer service when we walked in. We just got looked at without talking to the point I felt like I was in the wrong place.
