Waffles were yum, albeit slightly overpriced. Coffee was well made. Decor a little confusing- too many different themes in one place. Customer service was okay, more smiles would be good.

Very slow service, warm weak coffee. Waited for 20 mins for an effin panini to be warmed up. Not good enough. Last visit here ever.

The original Waikanae Cafe with great savouries and cakes at affordable prices. The latte is good but takes a while, so sit down and relax. Can recommend the bacon and egg pie with chips and bacon.

They make a nice coffee. There is a big selection of enticing looking savoury pastry items. I was disappointed when the quiche arrived heated in a manner that left the pastry soft, soggy and unappetising.
Food aside, the thing that put me off ever returning, is the strong smell of fried food. My clothes carried the strong smell with me until I could get home and change. I'd suggest a proper commercial extractor fan in the kitchen.

Pleasant surroundings, good food at reasonable prices. They know how to make a proper pot of tea, a pleasant bonus.

My eggs bennie royal was yummy but my mocha was disgusting, bitter and burnt. I told the young man who cleared our table I couldn't drink it as it was bitter. No apology or refund, not one word.
My partner's flat white was great but his big breakfast was small and he didn't enjoy the only just cooked scrambled eggs or the tiny sausage.

Such yummy food, on the board, menu & in the cabinet. The baking is so yummy too. Amazing service, great coffee. You are greeted when you arrive & leave. I do love the large space of this cafe. I can't recommend them enough.

Good coffee and extensive cabinet selection. Blackboard menu also very good. Smiling counter staff would improve.

My husband and I have stopped off there a couple of times and really enjoyed the food. My husband enjoys the paninis which he has heated and I've loved the filo pies with salads. The side salad is lovely too. Weve enjoyed the caramel milkshakes and would recommend as a drop in must do.

The place is super spacious and has really comfortable chairs. I had an afghan and strawberry milkshake and oh my word, the afghan is a generous size and very delicious, don’t be fooled by how small it looks in the photo! I can’t wait to visit again and see what other tasty food/drinks they have. The only reason I am giving a 4/5 rating is because there were two tables that hadn’t been cleared the entire time I was there (which would have been about 30mins). There were a few customers but the staff didn’t appear to be run off their feet, so I would have thought that maybe the tables could have been cleared then? Although it’s possible they never noticed? However I have never worked in the hospitality industry so I have no idea how it works. Overall, the uncleared tables didn’t cause an impact because there weren’t many customers at that time.

Fun, relaxed and a good place to go with friends and family. I had a great time and the people there are so nice! The place is well decorated and the food arrives quite quickly. Would recommend!

Coffee was below average, whilst being overpriced. Lovely young man that served us as well as the owner who brought our food out. But the young man that cleared our table was rude, "you finished" whilst hurriedly clearing our table made me and my mother feel like we needed to leave asap. Also said goodbye on our way out the door and were ignored. Won't be going back

Top prices. Wrong panini came via wrong table in spite of only 2 clients in cafe. Coffee indifferent.

Gift shop next door was lovely. Had very nice gifts but only a small section the rest was book and magazines

Pleasant interior, very good food, has a small bar area which serves alcohol, easy access into cafe from two directions.

They got rid of their best barista a few months ago n wont go back favouritism in staff is not a good look

Had a big breakfast and it had the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. Portion size is generous as well.
