Nice place for a reasonably priced meal. Had a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were tasty and delivered quickly. I can recommend this place.

Great place for an early morning breakfast to watch the rugby. Food was good, service was excellent for such a large crowd. Definitely will come again.

Great local pub, wide selection of beers and wines. Food is good quality "pub grub" especially the burgers.

Catered well for a rather large group. Everyone enjoyed the food…kids and adults. Can’t wait for the new even more varied menu. Great local. Thank you

We had my mother's 100 birthday party at One Fat Bird. The service and food were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Huge disappointment. Thi used to be a great casual restaurant. Still has a good selection of tap beer and friendly service but food was restricted to bar menu only and not satisfactory for dinner choice. Good pretzel and popcorn chicken, but squid was so poor that three orders were largely uneaten, and pizza was like cardboard with tasteless sauce

Disappointing on repeat.
This local pub has the potential to deliver but time & time again it disappoints, can’t even make the staple of a decent local pub properly - Fries! The fries are usually burnt or are being cooked in very old oil, whichever it’s inexcusable. It’s lazy practice & taking advantage of clientele in the hope no one will complain.
I have brought this to the managements attention previously, nothing has changed. Come on One Fat Bird! Have some pride in what’s turned out from the kitchen to your local patrons!

The food (4 mains and 1 coffee) and ambience was pretty good but I'm disappointed that they partially refused to honour the vouchers of the Entertainment Book even when I showed them (2 different people) the rules on my phone app.

I had 4 adults and 2 kids in my group and had 3 entertainment book vouchers and tried to use 2 vouchers but they insisted I can only use one per visit. I know times are tough but rules are rules. If they had requested me to use only 1 because times are bad instead of telling me I'm wrong then I'll be happier to accede to their request.

This left a sour taste in my mouth and I won't be going back as I prefer to visit places that will abide by rules.

I very clearly showed them my Entertainment Book App that shows 2 vouchers were available. They said I can only redeem 1 at a time. I showed them the rules from the entertainment book which stated I could redeem 2 if I had a party of 4 paying for 4 full priced meals. Yet they refused to let me do this.

Now you are still insinuating that I am mistaken and that I'm wrong instead of owning up to your ignorance and lack of good customer service.

Not going to argue with you anymore as you're clearly not interested in the truth but to stick to your version of the truth. You've lost me and my entire family as a customer and if anyone ask me about 1FB you can be sure what I'll tell them.

The most friendliest staff i ever met! Top serving, absolutely stunning beers and environment. I can only recommend it!

This is a good local pub with generous portions. It is a bit expensive and the atmosphere can be a bit lacking, but the food makes up for any short falls.

Its been a while since we visited One Fat Bird and the menu has changed since our last visit and now has a smaller range of meals to choose from. We started with the German Pretzel which we shared and enjoyed, an interesting and novel starter. I had the steak sandwich and was very happy, plenty of steak and other fillings and good value for money, my wife had the Vegan burger which was $29, the most expensive Vegan burger we have seen, while it tasted fine it appeared to be a processed manufactured pattie, the rest of the filling was fine but we felt the price of the burger was not justified in the product, a price of 24 would be more realistic. The service was friendly, efficient and prompt and the live music was very good, a very talented musician who I would quite happily sit and listen to. Overall a very good night but just not good value for money on the vegan burger.

I only had a hot chocolate, so what can go wrong with it?
A lot.
It was not hot, and I question if it had seen chocolate?
And if my one was a large one as I ordered, I do not want to know how small a small one is.
Okay you can say why have you not got a beer of their 20+ craft beer offers.

Menu has been limited recently due staff shortage but that’s understandable.

First time I had been there and it was great. I took my 101 year old client with me and she totally loved the food and the setting. Friendly waiter and will definitely go back again.

Stopped in at the Bird after a trip to Makara. A lovely place to stop in at with the kids too. A nice vibe and ambience made our coffees even more enjoyable. Friendly staff and super quick service, well impressed. Will definitely go back for a meal as the menu looked enticing. See you again soon One Fat Birdie

Had dinner on burger Monday.great choice on that one. Delicious burger and the fries were very very tasty. Well done on the meal. Great price and friendly staff… perfect night.

The Bird is one of our favorite eating places in Wellington, even though it's not our local. The food is good, and so is the atmosphere and the service. There was a great dark stout with a nutty flavor yesterday!
